Dubai - Tens of thousands of migrant workers in Dubai and Umm Al Quwain, United Arab Emirates, will get free food during the Holy Month of Ramadan.

The Community Development Youth Council, CDA, says as many as 32,000 migrant workers will be treated to free fasting meals after Taraweh prayers.

Food will be distributed every night at Al Quoz Mosque and food will also be distributed for six days at seven other mosques in Deira and Bur Dubai.

As reported by Khaleej Times on May 8, 2018, as many as 1000 volunteers will be deployed to distribute the food.

Ramadan 2018 is the second time that CDA distributes free fasting meals. Launched in 2017, 700 CDA council members and volunteers distribute over 53,000 meals to workers in Dubai and Abu Dhabi after Taraweeh throughout Ramadan.

CDA believes despite targeting 32 thousand migrant workers for free meals during Ramadan, but the number is expected to exceed 2017 as it adds 7 additional distribution locations for the initiative as well as 300 additional volunteers in both major cities in the United Arab Emirates.
