eBay takes on Prime Day with its own summer sale
Good news, deal hunters: eBay today kicked off a summer sale offering discounts on everything from TVs and action cameras to gaming gear, wearable computing devices, smart home gadgets, and more.
EBay has more than 100 products discounted to $119 today, including: a 32-inch TCL Roku Smart LED HDTV (48 percent off), GoPro Hero5 Session (40 percent off), Fitbit Blaze smart fitness watch (40 percent off), Bose Soundlink Mini II Bluetooth speaker (40 percent off), and Garmin Vivioactive HR GPS smartwatch (52 percent off). To further sweeten the deal, eBay is offering free shipping on all discounted goodies.
The sale comes one week before Amazon Prime Day, which officially kicks off July 16 at noon PT. While Prime Day deals are exclusively available for Prime subscribers, eBay's discounts are available for everyone—no membership required.
EBay promised to offer "massive discounts on hundreds of top items, as well as coupon offers this week." The company plans to hold "one-day-only sales in its top categories" tomorrow and Wednesday from 5 a.m. to 11 p.m. PDT, so stay tuned for that.
Some of the other tech deals you can expect to find on eBay this week include: 60 percent off Black & Decker's PET Lithium Robotic Vacuum, 38 percent off Nest Cam IQ Indoor, and 20 percent off Xbox One S 1TB starter bundle.
Meanwhile, eBay late last month introduced a Best Price Guarantee program offering 110 percent of the price difference on more than 100,000 qualifying items. If you buy something on the site then find that same item for a better price on Amazon.com, BestBuy.com, HomeDepot.com, Jet.com, Sears.com, Target.com, Walmart.com, or Wayfair.com, be sure to contact eBay Customer Service within 48 hours of your purchase. If the item qualifies, eBay will send you a coupon for 110 percent of the difference.
