"These sanctions are [a] criminal act," Khamenei said. However, Ayatollah believes that the current situation may become "an opportunity" if they make Iran's economy cease to be dependent on oil exports.

Likewise, the supreme leader assured that Tehran does not pose a threat to any country, and said that his only objective is to ensure the security of his country. He also stressed that the plots of the "enemies of the nation" are "doomed to failure."

On the other hand, Ayatollah stressed that, despite the pressure exerted by the US. Since the Islamic revolution of 1979, his country has an important Air Force. "Since the revolution, their goal was to prevent us from having a strong air force [...], but look at us now. We even built airplanes," Khamenei said. "We have transformed their pressure into opportunity," he insisted.

Iran is celebrating the 41st anniversary of the Islamic Revolution these days, which in 1979 overthrew sah Mohammad Reza Pahleví, backed by Washington.
