**Oprah's Childhood - **

Oprah's childhood days incidents will make us give her a huge salute as she managed to
succeed inspite of her hardship during her childhood. She was born to a very poor family. She wore potato sacks as her family couldn't afford for clothing. First few years, Oraph was living in Mississippi with her grandmother.

When she was 6 years old her grandmother fell sick and couldn't take care of her. So Oprah was sent to her mother who lived in a boarding house where her poverty level would worsen and would face sexual abuse. Her days were pathetic and her 19 years old cousin raped her when she was 9.

After all hardship, she was sent to her dad who lived in Tennessee and there began her success. Her dad recreated her by providing her an education-centred environment and directon which bloomed her socially and academically. She was voted the most popular girl in the class.
Oprah discovered her passion for media and worked hard for it by joining speech team and after her school she worked for a black radio station. Then she secured a full scholarship to pursue her course in Tennessee State University. At the age of 19, She left college early to fix her career in media.

Before her age 20, she became the first black female news anchor. At her job she was humiliated and harassed. After 8 months of work she was fired from the job.

She started hosting gig which was then called 'AM Chicago'. In just few months AM Chicago became the highest rated talk show which is her supreme success.Three years later the show was remaned to 'The Oprah Winfrey Show'. Oprah later negotiated ownership for the show which brought in $300 million in just one year.

Her success brought in chances for her to involve in plays, TV series, Films. And she was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for her performance in "The Color Purple."

Oprah's success extended when she published 'The Oprah Magazine; started a radio channel, Oprah Radio; and launch a cable channel, the Oprah Winfrey Network.
