False version of MyEtherWallet ranked among the most downloaded applications of App Store
A fake MyEtherWallet.com App came to the top of the most used apps in the iOS App Store. MyEtherWallet is one of the most important portfolios for ethers (ETH), which reaffirms the interest generated by cryptographic currencies in recent months.
This app was placed in the third most downloaded place in the Finance category of the App Store during the past weekend. However, it is an unofficial application, so users should avoid downloading it. The creator of the app, Nam Le, has three other applications with Apple, although none associated with cryptocurrencies.
The company MyEtherWallet.com used its official Twitter account to disclaim this identity theft: "These are not us. We have filled reports, sent reports and reported. We would appreciate the help of the community to get these scammers out of our lives. "

The application was priced at $ 4.99 for its download and was published just over a week ago for iOS devices. With it, users could create or import a purse to store cryptocurrencies independently of an exchange, simulating the official image of MyEtherWallet.
Just a few hours ago they published a tweet in which they claimed that the application had been removed from the App Store. "The fake MyEtherWallet app has been removed from the iOS store. Finally, "they wrote.
The application notes state that all keys are stored in the device. However, giving an unknown developer full confidence in the information in the wallet is reckless, to say the least. This incident is curious because the process of selecting the applications of the Apple store is more rigorous than much of the competition. However, it seems that this time the forgers managed to sneak in.
