Zlatan Ibrahimovic shares his ridiculous 'King Kong' physique as Jose Mourinho hints at Manchester United return
Zlatan Ibrahimovic has posted a picture of his ridiculous physique just hours after Jose Mourinho hinted that the striker could make a return to Manchester United.
Ibrahimovic, who is recovering from significant knee ligament damage sustained at the end of last season, proved he has lost none of his strength and power as his rehabilitation from injury continues.
The former PSG striker posted a picture of his naked torso alongside an image of King Kong, with the caption "King and Kong".
The 35-year-old is currently without a club after being released by Manchester United at the beginning of June but Jose Mourinho hinted Ibrahimovic could still play a part in the club's season.
"We spent big money on a striker because, with strikers, you either spend or you don't get," Mourinho told reporters following United's 1-0 pre-season defeat to Barcelona.
"And we spent because of what happened to Zlatan and we can not allow ourselves to be without an important, strong striker for the first six months of the season."
“Of course we wanted to be honest and open and let everything for him to make the decision in case his desire was to leave, so there was not a new contract.
Ibrahimovic is a free agent and could sign a short-term deal at Old Trafford if he proves his fitness during the January transfer window.
The former Barcelona and PSG striker is using Manchester United's facilities to work on his injury rehab and Paul Pogba recently insisted Ibrahimovic remains a leader at the club.
"Obviously Zlatan is a leader, always a big leader, and he's a big leader because he's still in the team," Pogba said. "Even though he's not playing he's a leader outside of the pitch," said Pogba.
"I've been playing for one season, I came here to hopefully be a leader in the team. That's not the objective but that's how you should be. I've been here, we won, and you want to grow up as a player and a leader as well.
Manchester United play Real Madrid in the Uefa Super Cup on Tuesday August 8.
