This Week in the Sndbox

Welcome to the 46th State of the Sndbox newsletter!

This past week, we reflected on Creative Crypto on the Rize App, presented you with a Dtube exclusive of our new Sndbox video, and released a new webisode of Blockchain & Bourbon. In competitions, we gave updates on our weekly Crypto Art Challenge and asked you to animate The Creative Crypto logo. We also launched our new community projects; The Creative Crypto Billboard and EXHIBITION.

The Crypto Renaissance: Sndbox + Steem Exhibition in New York City

We would like to extend an invitation to you and all Steemians to visit us and our upcoming gallery in New York City! We’re currently in the process of preparing all the material to showcase Steem’s best tools that have been utilized in the incubator. On July 20, 2018, all New Yorkers and visitors will be able to interact with and learn about the Steem ecosystem of applications, projects, communities, and much more, all while having access to public activities and special events.

Read all about the details and roadmap for the coming months here.

DTube Exclusive of Sndbox's New Video

The creative agency, Humdinger & Sons summarizes Sndbox's mission perfectly in this 71 second video that also serves as a promotional tool for Steemit and Steem. We showcased the video on Sndbox's second cohort invitation post. We discuss our creative process and explain our motivations for the major scenes in the video.

See the slices of our video with accompanying analysis here.

Welcome to EXHIBITION

Another community project by the @sndbox incubator, @exhibition is a community account to be used for events, galleries, workshops, marketing, presentations, and meetups. Exemplary to its vision, the first Steem-Powered Exhibition in NYC, also called The Crypto Renaissance will run from July 20 to August 15 in a public gallery where visitors are able to use the account to blog, comment, upvote and explore all of the applications across the Steem blockchain.

Creative Crypto on Rize

Our Sndbox introduction on PROPS Project's Medium Page shares our Steemit journey as we went from projects like Steem Park to starting the Sndbox incubator, and then kicking off The Creative Crypto online Magazine.

Blockchain & Bourbon which streams live on the Rize App every Friday afternoon is an outlet for us to explore the decentralized world of video that ultimately was succeeded by our discovery of the Rize App on the PROPS blockchain and its tokenized video platform. Aligned with the convergence of crypto-tech with creative practice, the Rize App will be further utilized into our incubator program and general programming as we capture and share our experiences in blockchain-powered technologies.

Read our full PROPS introduction here.

Tron Art & Design Challenge

Tron has recently made headlines and has taken the top 20 list of currencies by storm. Now it takes the spotlight as we challenge artists and creatives to transform the TRON logo into the likes of Picasso, Van Gogh, David Hockney, Michelangelo or any style that matches the hype that it's raking up in the cryptoverse.

View the guidelines here.

NEO Art and Design Challenge Winners

The rabbit hole took us to interesting interpretations of the NEO logo. We get plunged deep into the Matrix in @katalinaooma's Digital Rain which comes out besting @crittercats' Puzzling Neo, @albert0davila's Cubism, @mbell's Retro Futurism, @anomt's Last Supper?, and last but not the least, @ran.koree's Neo Graffiti.

Click here to see the winners.

Blockchain & Bourbon Weekly

Blockchain and Bourbon is a weekly webisode by the makers of The Creative Crypto Magazine, and is streamed LIVE on multiple social media apps such as Rize and Facebook.

Our new @dlive episode talks about hooking someone into the blockchain space regardless of their background or knowledge of tech or finance. Mark Zuckerberg might disagree with the concept of everyone's "likes" and time spent on Facebook as something that should be of value to the contributor but we discuss further this internal economy that should be rewarding us for this time and contribution. Blockchain and crypto opens up the space for us to receive the rewards from advertising and content contribution. The Brave browser already implements this by paying users to view commercials. On Rize, you are immediately rewarded when you stream.

Watch the edited webisode here on @dlive.

Creative Crypto Billboard

The Creative Crypto Billboard (@cc-billboard) is a gathering place for all crypto platforms, communities, makers, and general appreciators of art and creativity. This new page on The Creative Crypto's website will become a dynamic broadcast of curated and creative work submitted exclusively by our readers. Successful contributors will be eligible for a @sndbox upvote.

We look forward to exploring your ideas and submissions so check out the mechanics here!

The Creative Crypto Animation Competition

Every Steemian is invited to bring life to our Creative Crypto Logo in an intro / outro video format for our weekly broadcasts. We held a video animation competition for our Sndbox logo and the winning entry by @leotrap has since been used in dozens of @dtube and @dlive videos about happenings within the Steem ecosystem and future prospects of the blockchain.

View the competition rules here.
