World's second highest sculpture is going to be 'Garuda Vishnu Kanchan'
The 'Garuda Vishnu Kanchan', which is under construction in the sand of Indonesia, is going to be the world's second highest sculpture. The construction work of the sculpture started in 1997 is expected to be completed in August this year. Already 70 percent of the work has been completed. Indonesian Nurata, an Indonesian citizen of Indonesia's sculpture, is located in Usgasan area of Badung, Bali Island.
Architects demanded that the 121m high sculpture is smaller than the Spring Temple Buddha but taller than Myanmar's 'Lacon Sakya Buddha' statue. It is being made with imported materials from Japan, Europe, and Latin America.
In fact, the highest sculpture in the world is China's 'Spring Temple Buddha'. The sculpture is located in Lushan County, Henan Province of China. The 153 meter tall 'Spring Temple Buddha' sculpture was built between 1997-2008. The weight of 1,000 tons weighing is made of 1,100 copper pieces.
The height of Myanmar's Lacon Sakya Buddha statue is 116 meters. Then there is the Ushiku Diabatsu sculpture of Japan. The US Statue of Liberty is at the fifth place with a height of 95 meters.
