Biden is heading to Poland, before meeting with NATO-EU leaders.webp

US President Joe Biden will visit Poland coming Friday. Earlier in the day, he will hold talks in Brussels with leaders of the NATO alliance and the European Union (EU). The White House articulated in a check on Monday.

Biden will hold talks with Polish President Andrzej Dudar in Warsaw. He will also discuss humanitarian assistance in the war in Ukraine. Nearly half of those displaced by the war in Ukraine have sought refuge in the border country of Poland.

The White House said in a statement that "the president will discuss with our allies and partners how the United States will deal with the humanitarian and human rights crisis in Ukraine caused by Russia's unjust and unjustified war."

Biden is scheduled to hold talks with French President Emmanuel Macho, German Chancellor Olaf Schultz, Italian Prime Minister Mario Draghi, and British Prime Minister Boris Johnson.

Biden will travel to Brussels next Wednesday to attend meetings of the NATO Military Alliance, the European Council and the G7. However, a White House spokeswoman said she had no plans to visit Ukraine. Biden is visiting Europe for the first time since the start of Russia's invasion of Ukraine. Russia has launched a military operation against Ukraine's NATO alliance as a threat to its security. Originally, Ukraine was adamant about getting a member of NATO. However, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky softened the tone after the attack. The Ukrainian president also said that Kyiv would agree to withdraw from the NATO alliance once security was assured. Expressing frustration over NATO's role in the ongoing war, he added that NATO was afraid to make Ukraine a member.
