Croatia won a second consecutive penalty shootout 4-3 to advance to the World Cup semifinals, ending the tournament for hosts Russia, who had equalised late in extra time.

39': Andrej Kramaric scores a goal, assisted by Mario Mandzukic.

101': Domagoj Vida scores a goal, assisted by Luka Modric.

115': Mario Fernandes scores a goal, assisted by Alan Dzagoev.

Bullshit Time: 

No one of us could think Russia go this far before the World Cup. They defensed very well again. They didn't give  Croatia many chances even though Croatia has great stars in midfield. They could go to final 4 if they had the luck on penalty shootout.

Croatia also defensed well and Russia barely had chances to score. Croatia progressed to next level again through penalty shootout.

Man of the match: Luka Modric, 32 years old, 172cm, 66kg, has 1 goal 6 assists in La Liga, and 1 goal 1 assist in UEFA Champions League for Real Madrid last season.
