Malema On Monday Morning - A Break In Routine

in #newslink6 years ago (edited)

This Monday morning we arrived at work to find the road closed in various places, blocking vehicular access to our store. Due to the absence of sirens and police cars, I deduced it must be time for South Africa's controversial leader of the EFF (Economic Freedom Front), Julius Malema to appear in court....again.

Basically the EFF say they want to seize privately owned land from whites and indians and redistribute to the the disadvantaged black people of our country. This is the reason why he is appearing in court in our town, as he told his followers to go out and forcibly take the land they wanted at a political rally in our town in 2016 (I think). The case is continually being postponed, so it is quite a farce. He was only in court for about ten minutes today, and the case was again postponed to 25 February 2019.

The road blocked off in all directions.

I'm not sure if he had one or two previous visits to our court, but his support today seemed rather lacklustre .(which Malema blamed on the cold! It's not that cold today!!!) I doubt there were even 200 people to support him. Malema also seemed to be on good behaviour, as he didn't even once mentioning killing us (whites)!

How do I feel about all this? Pretty blah. If they want to forcibly seize "my" property, they can have it. It all belongs to the bank anyway. People get so worked up by his speeches, but that's what people love to do. Fear porn I suppose. I have more of a chance of getting killed in a road accident or armed robbery, both commonplace and regular occurrences in our rather lawless country. Anyway the marching, singing and dancing was quite entertaining, especially for a dull winter's Monday morning.

I am sharing a video clip I took from a distance. I was the wrong skin colour to go much closer, and I didn't want my phone swiped either! There are a few more videos that I have included from various news outlets if you would like to see a bit of the court proceedings and the speech.

I'm always amazed when People Sing and Dance when they are unhappy?, Does not leave much to do when you are Happy?
I do know when paying with a Card , if you sing and Dance , the transaction goes through more Quickly, but other patrons do look at you strangely!

Does it work when you are wishing you actually had money in the card? I would even ululate then!!!

What a fascinating place you live in. As an American, it's so strange to imagine living in a place that's constantly going through this kind of political strife. We have our own circuses but for the most part they just take place on TV.

It does make life less boring! I hope you are keeping well? I've been very lazy on Steemit lately!!!

I've been doing great. I've been lazy on Steemit too - posting some pictures every day but I haven't been able to read and comment as much. The full time job makes a huge difference, but I guess it came along at the right time given this crypto "collapse."

I hope things are going well at the shop!

Thanks for dropping by my posts!!
I hope you are very well and have been very successful in your new food recipes!!
I am still waiting for your new post!

How are your cats?!
Mine are getting bigger as I feed them too often! Jilly just delivered her four kittens! I haven’t seen them yet, but my gardener has made some improvement to the kitttens ‘ hole in the garden. It’s rainy season, so she made some banana leaves shade for them.

Cheers.

At last the post on the cats is coming! I have also been busy with my new fish tank. The photo is not great as my phone camera is damaged. Will take better ones later.

I hope the kitties stay safe, I see your gardener has really come around. It's good you spoil your cats!

Great to hear from you! A fish tank!! Waiting to see what kind of fish you have.
I am going to invent some food recipe that can be frozen for a several days. I am getting stuck with what to cook for myself.
See your post soon!

I have a small tank with 6 fish. I bought a small one cheap at the auction. I make a lot of curries that freeze well. I have a favourite Indian and a favourite Thai curry.

Do share your secret recipe! I will make some adaptation with lots of vegetables.
I will tell you later where the best directions to put your fish tank, according to Chinese feng shui.
Number 6 is excellent!! You do have psychic intuition. This year fish tank is very desirable to improve energy flow in the house and offices.

That is very interesting! I didn't feel right until I put 6 fish into the tank. I had 4 to start with, but bought another 2 yesterday. At the moment it is on my dressing table so I can see it when I am in bed.

I will post the 2 recipes here. I replace a lot of the chicken with potatoe and it will be easy to omit the chicken altogether. I do for my daughter who has become a vegetarian.

Thank you! Got it!
Number 4 is good for education. Number 6 is good for bringing in wealth, luck, and leadership.

This is a very nice fish tank!

Very good energy!

Well, it's like this, onetree. South Africa has Julius Malema, and the United States of America has Reverend Al Sharpton. Both of them are rabble-rousers. However, I would have to say that Julius Malema is the more dangerous of the two, because he has more education than Reverend Al Sharpton and he uses it for the wrong thing. BTW, I gave your article a thumbs-up. :-)
