Barcelona Terror Suspect: 1 Dead Didor, 1 Policeman Dizzed
BARCELONA - A Barcelona terror suspect is reported to have been shot dead by police and another arrested. The perpetrator used the van to hit the pedestrians at Las Ramblas, Barcelona. At least 13 people were killed and 50 others injured.
The van used in acts of terror is believed to have been hired by a French national named Driss Oukabir. Action of terror was done after 5 pm local time.
La Vanguardia newspaper reported a man was shot dead during a shootout with police in the suburbs. Police also confirmed one person has been arrested in connection with the incident as quoted from London Evening Standard, Friday (18/08/2017).
A police spokesman also dismissed reports that two gunmen were hiding in a bar in the city and holding hostages. Not yet known the number of perpetrators involved in the incident.
Fearful witnesses reported that they heard shots in La Boqueria market area in the city. A second van linked to an attack was found in the small town of Vic in Catalonia, local authorities said on Twitter.
A taxi driver who witnessed the attack, Oscar Cano, said that the van drove to the pedestrian area at high speed and turned from side to side.
In photos and videos, at least five people could be seen lying on the street assisted by police and others. Another video recording people shouting as they escape from the raging van.
