Clean Up!
It's a new year, Gorgeous! Although every day is made new, the change from one year to the next is still a wonderful time to flip that switch.
Ever heard of the aying: Organize and clean up your place so God can come through for a visit! When God stops stops by, you know it's gonna' be life changing. He/She comes with wisdom, love, peace, and like a good lover, a pleasant surprise for you hidden in His backpack! "Kembe Kay ou prop, pou Bondye ka passe lakay ou" is normally a forgotten phrase, so when a person shares it with you, to them, a light-bulb just went off and they want you to get a piece of the action. Clean up! Old loose papers? Space or bags you haven't opened and who knows what could be crawling in it? Fridge a hot mess?Basically, Know what is in your space and account for everything, keep only what you need and what you love. Have everything smelling good. I'm sure every culture has a similar saying...We can probably find similar ideas in Feng-Shui or in sayings like "Cleanliness is next to Godliness."...Maybe even in Proverbs 27:23's "Keep well informed of the condition of your flocks and pay attention to your herds."
It's not as spiritual as one might think. It really means you've got to clean as if it's your paid job. Will God stop by if you're house is a mess? I bet He does, but you wouldn't easily notice or get any memos he's left for you -you'd miss it in the clutter!
I remember a coworker who had a side gig cleaning up a daycare and two offices after her full-time job. She had been wiping down toilets, tables, vacuuming and ensuring the children had a clean bathroom void of piss on the walls and that employees continuously walked on clean floors and work spaces. She had an Epiphany while wiping down a conference room. She hardly ever wiped down anything in her own home and here she was, ensuring God stopped for a visit in these offices, yet never considered cleaning her own place with such enthusiasm and care. Spiff up and manage your own house too, always.
I love this video by Terri Savelle Foy. She says it better than I can. This post is for people who know they don't clean nearly enoguh! It's for people who want to move to the next level in their lives.
When you're done cleaning and watching the above Terri Savelle Foy Vid, maybe the next day you can watch a motivational video by Jim Rohn. Happy 2018. Let me know what's new with you and how your January 2018 is progressing. Love, peace, and Joy!
