Will next colony be available over steem after May 10th ?

Programmer team which is maintaining game Next Colony announced they will shut down game on steem chain on 10th May. They said they will open source code for game and if someone else would like to continue developing game on steem chain he'll be free to do so. Question for core developers of steem chain is will they continue with this nice game ?

It would be bad if game just got shutdown just when it become more interesting and just when we all understood how it works. Some people (not me) invested significant sum of steem into the game and they will lose their investment if they didn't earn by now. I'd feel bad if that happens because I would feel like I lost a lot of time playing this game.

Oli said "No one promised he'll maintain this game forever", but on other hand no one said "We'll shut down game after one year" too. He's accused by some players of scam, but he replied "It would be better scam if I worked at Macdonalds for year".

Game has dedicated fan base, a lot of players with a lot of planets and some of them would like to continue playing it on steem. It'd be bad to end in this way.

Will someone from steem take this game and let it live after 10th May ? Thanks.

But McDonald's would not shut down, if he would quit after 1 year of work. NextColony probably will.

I hope. I started my first exploring mission today (on 2020.04.12), but the return date of the explorer ship is "05/16/2020, 12:43:36", so the explorer ship will not return before the end of the season.

It is really shame. But look like Dev took it as "Hobby" project and now get bored.

I also wish someone should take it.
I have invested significant amount of steem in buying planets and stardust but look like all lost now.
Burning the planets now, but still doing research, just want to hit the max research before the game shut down.

I'd be bad if so big game like NC shut down on 10. May. Justin should ensure someone take over code and announce it before everyone burn planets to get something. I just fully understood how game works and find out how to explore space and now shut down ? Not fair! :) LoL
