What’s the Loom Network?
Loom Network is the next-generation blockchain platform for large-scale online games and social apps. As part of the Techstars New York class of 2018, we’ve been working hard on some amazing technology.

When you think blockchain, you probably think of banks and other boring financial institutions, but we think some of the most exciting potential is in gaming. Why? A blockchain is really just a form of database with unbreakable connections between information that’s stored, with the benefit of peer auditing.

This enables some incredible features that have never been possible before:

Actual rarity. You’ll be able to see exactly what ‘Rare’ or ‘Legendary’ means and know the supply of each card.
Distributed control. With distributed game servers and item ownership, games built on the blockchain can’t just shut down one day. No single company can make a decision and take away everything you spent hours or years earning.
Forever yours. You literally own the in-game items you’ve earned – forever. You can do anything you want with your items through our marketplace or any other app that interacts with the open game blockchain.
Cross-game marketplace. You can sell, trade, and see the price history of all sorts of in-game items. Developers can even link items between games, so owning an item from one game can impact another.
...and that’s just a tiny list of what’s possible with running a game like Zombie Battleground on the Blockchain.

But beyond Zombie Battleground, you’re backing what we believe to be the foundational technology for the future of gaming. We think it’s important to deliver an inaugural game that can showcase how this revolution will benefit developers, publishers, and (most importantly) gamers.

To make this game absolutely jaw dropping, we need financial support from passionate gamers like you. Everything we raise through crowdfunding will be going into helping us complete our vision and make the game even deeper. Our alpha version has been met with excitement and enthusiasm, but you can help Zombie Battleground sprint across the finish line and make a huge impact on gaming.

We’ll be doing a monthly rolling release schedule to backers of the Kickstarter campaign, as well as sending weekly update emails so you can be a part of the process.

That means you’ll get a new version of the game with new features every single month, so you can start playing, give us your feedback, and help contribute to making this game as amazing as possible.

All features listed on this kickstarter will be completed in under 10 months (by May 2019). But with that said, the very first roll-out will ship in July 2018! And as an early backer, you’ll get exclusive access to it before everyone else.

If we can make it past our initial goal with your support, we have set out some stretch goals to add even more to the battleground.

Zombie Battleground’s Director, Roy Shapira, brings over 100 games of experience to his leadership of the team. With team members in 15 countries around the world, we’re proud to bring diversity to the table.
