NFL Wild Card Preview: Saturday Games
Titans @ Chiefs
There's no way around it - fans have this pegged as one of the worst playoff games in recent memory. After starting out 5-0, the Chiefs went through a stretch of 1-6 football before closing out the season 4-0 (albeit against the Raiders, Chargers, Dolphins and Broncos). In fact, the Chiefs have not beaten a playoff team since Week 2. The Titans, on the other hand, only have playoff wins against the division rival Jaguars, and have lost to the Texans (I should say crushed), 49ers, and Cardinals.
This game will come down to two players - Kareem Hunt and Tyreek Hill. The Chiefs fly only as high as these two speedsters. I predict a big outing from Hunt, and a lackluster outing from the DeMarco Murray-less, less-than-Titanic Tennessee offense.
Prediction: Chiefs 31, Titans 3
Falcons @ Rams
Matt Ryan and the Atlanta Falcons seek redemption for the 28-3 Super Bowl Fiasco that brought a crushing end to last season. The Rams, on the other hand, are on the upswing, from last to first in the NFC West.
This game is a huge question mark. The Falcons were 1-3 against the lackluster AFC East, but also defeated the Saints, Panthers, and Aaron Rodgers-led Packers. The Rams flexed a dominant offense through most of the season. Expect this one to be a high scoring affair, with Matt Ryan's playoff experience being the difference maker in the end.
Prediction: Falcons 45, Rams 41
