Below negative 30 C - Bury your house in snow for extra isolation effect
This week saw local temperatures in the negative 30s.
Keeping in mind that I already had problems with freezing basement when the temperatures were in the negative 20s, the solution had to be packing extra snow all around the foundation of my house, as can be seen in the last photo.
The strategy seems to be working, as despite plummeting temperatures outside, my basement is now relative warm.
