The night of the holiday changes everything for Suki Kowalski, a 32-year-old mechanic from Liverpool.

One moment, she is discussing sausages with her splendid friend, Boris Blast; the next, watching with horror as scheming giants poke each other.

She knows these giants came from Truro but she can't prove it - at least not without some sunny soup.

The admirable, hopeful woman knows that her sleepy life is over. She acquires some sunny soup and is reborn as the hero who will save the world from scheming giants.

However, when Boris calls, begging her to come home, Suki is forced to decide what is more important: stopping the scheming giants that poke each other, or preserving her relationship with her friend?
