Nuclear technology ( effective or threat )
We have been living in the nuclear age now for over half a century. Since the first atomic bombs were developed, nuclear technology has provided governments with ability to totally destroy the planet. Even So the technology has been put to positive use as an energy source and in certain areas of medicine.
To what extent is nuclear technology a danger to life on earth? What are the benefits and risks associated with its use?
Nowadays people are afraid of living in such a planet where nuclear technology has taken place with the name of development. From my point of view, though it has some effective uses as energy fuel and medicine, it can not assure the safety of humanity as well as the planet.
Nuclear technology provides a large amount of source as electricity in power plants which is reliable and lower in cost compared to the other resources. It also brought a revolution in medical science as a cure for cancer. These days nuclear radiation can be used to burn the cancerous cells. Though this is risky, sometimes it may hamper the body but it is the only option to cure in some cases.
On the other hand, It may violent the peace of a nation by using it as a negative or disastrous way. Take Hiroshima and Nagasaki as an example. Millions of people have died and millions of people are still suffering because of the curse of nuclear reaction. Moreover, many countries are trying to overrule the other countries with the power of the nuclear weapon.
These days, the military has been developing their power by making nuclear weapon which makes people worried about handling that power. In fact, such power in wrong hand may cause of bringing a great threat for a nation. Most of the developed nations have made their own nuclear weapons like the USA, Germany, China, UK, North Korea, etc. In addition to this, developing countries like India, Pakistan are trying to make or collect the weapon eagerly. However, the Survey says that remaining nuclear bong can destroy this planet 10 times and still countries are making this dangerous weapon.
In conclusion, nuclear technology is effective in a few sectors and a good cure for cancerous cases but mishandling of this technology can destroy the whole planet. Though it is commonly used in many purposes, the authority must be aware of the danger and must make a plan to handle the situation of crises.
