Tea is the most widely consumed beverage worldwide after water. It has been widely studied due mainly to its content of polyphenols, as well as certain substances that have been shown to have a preventive or therapeutic effect on health.

Among some benefits are:

It has an antioxidant effect that helps fight aging by protecting the cells from free radicals.

Stimulates the thermogenesis of adipose tissue. That is, it facilitates the decrease of body fat.

It has an anticancer effect because it helps to inhibit the proliferation of cancer cells or tumor growth.

It has an anti-inflammatory effect that helps cope with various chronic inflammatory diseases (IBD, E. Crohn, ulcerative colitis, among others).

It plays a potential role in the management of neurodegenerative diseases due to the catechins (main flavonoids in green tea) that are powerful antioxidants and radical scavengers.

There are many benefits of tea that range from its anti-obesity effects to its cardiovascular effects and metabolic syndrome. The benefits always go hand in hand with the dose and it depends on each particular case.

Keep in mind that tea is just a help and that you must also make changes in diet and lifestyle to achieve your goals.

El té es la bebida de mayor consumo a nivel mundial después del agua. Ha sido ampliamente estudiado debido principalmente a su contenido de polifenoles, asi como ciertas sustancias que han demostrado tener un efecto preventivos o terapéuticos para la salud.

Entre algunos beneficios están:

  1. Tiene un efecto antioxidante que ayuda a combatir el envejecimiento al proteger a las células de los radicales libres.

  2. Estimula la termogenesis del tejido adiposo. Es decir, que facilita la disminución de la grasa corporal.

  3. Tiene un efecto anticancerígeno debido a que ayuda a inhibir la proliferación de células cancerígenas o crecimiento tumoral.

  4. Tiene un efecto antiinflamatorio que ayuda a sobrellevar diversas enfermedades inflamatorias crónicas (EII, E. Crohn, colitis ulcerosa, entre otras).

  5. Desempeña un papel potencial en el manejo de enfermedades neurodegenerativas debido a las catequinas (principales flavonoides en el té verde) que son poderosos antioxidantes y eliminadores de radicales.

Son muchos los beneficios del té que van desde sus efectos antiobesidad hasta su efectos cardiovasculares y sobre el sindrome metabólico. Los beneficios siempre van de la mano a la dosis y depende de cada caso en particular.

Hay que tener en cuenta que el té es sólo una ayuda y que de igual manera hay que realizar cambios en la alimentación y estilo de vida para alcanzar tus objetivos.

Cuando se trata de salud nada se toma a la ligera. En el equilibrio y la adecuada orientación estan las claves de un salud óptima.
