RE: Operation Curation Delegation - Daily Compilation Post #2

in #ocd7 years ago

This post is at almost 200 dollars in just two hours, compare that to the posts it tells us this community has curated:

@ocd is in the process of developing our payouts to the authors that have been featured. Stay tuned.

Hopefully this disparaging compilation curation post reward vs original work's reward which it compiled and curated will be addressed. These type of posts exemplify this same disparaging chasm between the original work they curate and the compilation post, making people skeptical of the curation they claim such teams do.

I don't think curation should be automated, and I don't think curation means much to these authors simply because nobody will do the thankless task of resteeming their work, which I believe is a requirement to good curation.

Sort:

They haven't been curated on yet, easy with jumping the gun there. Not to mention we share the posting rewards with the curators and the authors.

As I said these posts exemplify a chasm between the rewards such a post makes vs the rewards of the articles curated in these posts. If rewards are split like you say then I don't have a problem with it, but I think my concern was valid, albeit a premature one.

Have you guys thought about resteeming such content with an account like this, giving these people a chance to reach a lot more users?

I'm personally re-steeming the posts of the OCD account for now to reach my followers. We've discussed re-steeming the authors posts once we have more followers on this account.

Yes you had valid concerns and a big reason this was created was that some other similar projects were only focusing their trail voting power on these compilation posts while the rewards were often unknown how they were handled.

Well you guys just earned yourself another follower. You are among one of the best here at discovering new people, giving them exposure and in turn helping support wonderful original content and engagement and I don't want to discourage or minimize those efforts at all.

You are doing a good job, also taking the time to explain everyone about your process, tells a lot about you. You do a lot for the minnows!

Hope your health is better.

You have to know that the author if this post will get more of the payout then we the curator get.

It wasn't about the author or the curators of this post, it was about the fact that the post was aimed at curating material, and it had 20x the rewards compared to just one of the articles that it curated, so without considering anything else, it was a concern since the aim was to curate and reward the authors of the articles that were curated, which I assumed were already curated on.

I need to learn more: "They haven't been curated on yet..."

I think I don't know what curating means here.
