Do you know the 2016 Olympics based in Rio are also visible in 3D via VR glasses?
Yes, in fact NBC by one side and BBC by the other will provide this service free for you. Not for all the events but for a good number.

NBC has in program to transmit 85 hours of events, captured by Olympic Broadcasting Services (OBS). You can use this service from 6th to 22th of August. The bad thing of this is that only Samsung Galaxy smartphones compatible with Gear VR will be ready to access these on-demand VR contents via "NBC Sports" app. These people can watch the VR contents via "TV Everywhere" on "NBC Sports" application but only after authentication with their Pay-TV provider details.

BBC instead will give access to its contents to all VR readers, including iPhone and Android compatible ones. It will start transmitting on 5th August and will close on 22th, with live contents carefully selected to give a lot of choices to people. Search on your app marketplace for "BBC Sport 360" app, and start watching 3D contents like you never imagined before!
