How To: Accept Payments Through Your Website Using Steemconnect

in #oneloveipfs6 years ago (edited)

I'm sure you have heard of the infamous Bitcoin pizza. Often people don't realize how valuable that pizza is/was to the adoption of general commerce into bitcoin during the early days. Digital Commerce helped spread knowledge about the new currency, as well as proved Bitcoin as having valuable real world use cases inside the digital payment economy. Steemconnect, in conjunction with Wordpress/Woocommerce creates a powerful open source payment platform that works seamlessly with the Steem Blockchain.

Requirements:
> A Website running wordpress.
> Knowledge how to install wordpress plugins.

First connect to your server and upload the plugin into your Wordpress directory.

> Unzip the directory
> Move the folder into your wp-plugins directory.

Enable the Woocommerce Steemconnect plugin.

Dude, this is legit!

Thank you :)

Hi @graylan, I noticed you forked the code of the plugin I have been working on (originally from @recrypto) and already available on Wordpress. I wonder why you decided to fork it rather than contributing to the existing plugin? Do you have any interesting changes in mind? I am reaching out partly out of curiosity and partly in case we may have a collaboration :)

Hello. @sagescrub I'm interested in working together. No particular reason for the fork other than mixed functionality. Your version of the plugin was broken(customers ended up getting a better deal, losing 30% USD value from bad conversion), so @techcoderx forked it. You can always take those changes back as contribution under GPL v3. I think it would be ideal to create a whole new wordpress plugin or update the documentation on the old one, as steemconnect functionality isn't in the name, and the other one (on wordpress site) has not had any development or features added in months. It's been left as a broken , unused plugin. I figured why not promote this as a working steemconnect payment solution? :D If you would like to keep the same plugin, i guess updating the markdown , github, and everything else would be positive move, as not many people know this even exists.

Hey @gray00, per our discord chat I am so glad that we will be collaborating on this plugin together! I think our team effort will make it stronger than just one individual's effort. You mentioned a lot of improvements that I wasn't even aware of. I am looking forward to working with you and @techcoderx to make this even more awesome!
