This is the place to be if you're a musician on Steemit. She also made a Facebook page called Steemit Musicians so we can post there too and get musicians on Facebook to break on through to the other side and join us here on Steemit.

Steemit Open Mic is really starting to take off thanks to all of your continued support and the quality of the posts keeps getting better. There is a lot of musical talent here on Steemit.

What I really love about running this contest besides the great music everyone is sharing is to see people who are new to Steemit earn some rewards for sharing their music. This is easier than being a street musician and in some cases pays as well as an actual gig at a venue.

Have a look at the trending page this week for the openmic tag.

Those are some healthy payouts and a great boost of confidence to someone new on Steemit. A boost to their belief in Steemit and in their music. I'm so happy to be part of this and thankful for everyone's support.

I have played music on the streets before and toured the US in a rock band and I know how hard it is to earn money as a musician. With the chance to make payouts like this on Steemit for playing one song in the comfort of your own home I get very excited about it.

Plus, they can grow a following so they can have an audience on Steemit and have the potential for future rewards down the line. Musicians need to eat and this is a great way to feed them.

@andybets has made a post where he is working on a Steemit Open Mic Chart that I think has the potential to be an app for the contest somewhere down the line.

I could see this some day being a new app that a musician would add to their phone and people could record, upload, comment, and vote for the entries right from their phone. His chart interface makes viewing the videos much faster and easier. Thanks @andybets for putting in the time and effort to do this.

@thisisbenbrick is working on a site that will allow musicians to sell their music directly for Steem and Steem Dollars and keep all the rewards and it's called @steemsongs. I have signed up for the pre-release at SteemSongs.com

This app sounds very simple and easy to use and I cant wait for it to be released. I'll keep you posted or you can follow @steemsongs and get updates.

It is SO exciting to see the Steemit music community growing each week and all of the incredible talent coming to Steemit. I can see a day when musicians can meet, play, exchange ideas, start bands, and even sell their music that they made on Steemit for Steemians.
