From the very first extended introduction note on the violin to the back flow of the interweaving guitar presence, you both show immediately your mastery in the craft of music. This was an exceptionally impressive display of talent, skill and passion and you brought the two songs together beautifully. This combination was filled with a lot of emotion, twisting and turning of rhythms, high and hypnotic sways of momentum and energies. I just love the violinist's playing and how you, without hesitation, broke through with a captivating vocal with just the right amount of harmonic support from the guitarist as well. This entry is beyond epic and deserves big praise and appreciation from the openmic community. You two have raised the standard once again and I thank you for making my judging that much easier. I mean, wow - these two artists just keep killin’ it week after week! This is the second week in a row that together, they have captured my number 3 spot. You know, I’m trying to make room for fresh faces and all, but Dan and Eden make that rather hard to do sometimes. Straight away, I was hypnotized by the steady drive of Eden’s guitar riff. The captivating lyrics Dan began to sing complimented the essence of that drive quite nicely. The chorus ramp and move back into the verses was flawless along with their intermittent harmonies. This is a finely crafted original song and performance that’s ready for prime time. - @passion-ground

Aside from the fact that @nathankaye is a musical force to be reckoned with, I specially find his performance magical because of its intensity. Leave nothing for later, leave it all on stage. I think he knows exactly what I'm talking about, I would be extremely surprised if Nathan would finish one of his shows and then go ride a bike or something, the intensity with which he performs is that of a man determined to leave his musical footprint behind.

It's not hard for me to relate to this song. Like many of us who are here today are looking for our truth, constantly swimming against the current of the norm. Extracting from mundane life bits and pieces of inspiration, things that gives us wings as he calls them. - @meno

Nathan is a rocker to the core. Besides being so talented he's basically a one man band, the sound is just awesome. Rich and thick rattlesnake rock. This song to me is special in ways that I may not be able to convey properly. I'm a firm believer that the most powerful thing we have to give, the most precious gift is simply love. We think sometimes that loving is a luxury, as if it's something we can do without, but the truth is very different.

Someone who has nothing, had something to give, had love to give and the inspiration of this song reminded me of such a fact. Yes the song is catchy, yes the guitar riff is cool, but the story, the message... this is what music means to me, when words by themselves fall short.* - @meno

Back to back bird-related songs. This open mic week definitely has taken flight and its course is soaring over the clear skies of talent and skill. I really like the wordplay and context of the title. The back drop story of this song is what really ties it all together and I also got that sense of hope and inspiration from the symbolic meaning and representation of forbidden friendship amongst chains and control. Your wonderful guitar playing, guiding and revealing singing of truth and overall musicianship brought you to the top 5 with this treat of a storytelling creation. Birds are fragile, as are the confines of the our human emotions and the things we take for granted such as freedom and this original entry highlighted a lot of the things which are precious and available to us who have such privilege and luxury to even enjoy the small things in life.
