Open Mic Week 96 - Top 5 Selection and Honorable Mentions
We are closing another amazing week at the #openmic my friends. I love how more and more entrants are joining our family with original material. I know for many the state of cryptocurrencies is keeping them from staying motivated, but honestly, if you embrace the true artist inside your heart, all that FUD and negative becomes just background noise.
I say this, because I mean it.... The openmic community is Crash proof!
Without any more delays, here we go:
First Place.-
What a beautiful little song. Honestly, this reminded me a bit of Andrew Bird's style, and that might not make any sense to anyone else but me. It's almost as if the goal is to make you lower your guard, then, once you think it's safe, it pushes you into that emotional vulnerability. I loved it...
Second Place.-
Before anyone accuses me of favoritism or anything of the sort, please click play on this song, please. I feel at times that I have to ignore the talented Pechi just to avoid drama, however this week, I just could not do it. He even nailed the guitar solo to the T.

Third Place.-
Am I surprised Jose is on my list again this week? No, not really, not in the slightest. I'm honestly convinced that Jose one day will be touring the world. Nobody can convince me otherwise, not only for his talent, of course, but for his personality and charisma.
If you disagree, that's because you've not seen him grow as an artist like we have here in the #openmic family. Before my eyes I saw a young man that could sing start to carve out his little legacy.
Fourth Place.-
I'm convinced Lilly has a unique defense mechanism that would ensure her survival even post a Zombie apocalypse. She would just sing you a song, smite you, weaken you, and next thing you know, you become her servant. I swear, I just love listening to this tiny little angel sing. It must be the third or fourth time I hit play today...
Fifth Place.-
Woah... So I saw Silent tackling this one and thought to myself - "Well... if anyone can pull it off, is probably her" - and of course she did. I love how @silentscreamer is always trying to outdo herself, I think that is her biggest strength. I would not be surprised if one of these days she attempts Bohemian rhapsody, not in the slightest.
To Silent, My good friend I say... Don't ever stop being awesome.

I would like to personally thank @ausbitbank, @curie and @aggroed for helping out our community. It's inspiring to see leadership taking the initiative to keep our beloved #openmic alive like this and its to me the biggest bullish indicator that we are on our way to a better, brighter tomorrow.
To our long time patron @pfunk once again, thank you for backing this project as you have for so long. I hope seeing the community rally behind the contest that we love so much made you proud. We have something very special here, and you've been key for it to be what it has become.

But hey friend, before you leave my post musical brother or musical sister, please know that despite the fact that we call this a competition, even though my post says first, second, third place, that is not what matters about the #openmic. In the end of the day the judges are just as human, as flawed and beautiful as everyone else on this planet. The ethos of this contest, of this community, is simply for us to have special place to share our passion for music, for us to laugh together, to cry together and explore emotions that everyday life seems to neglect in one way or another.
Every single one of you is valuable to me, so thank you for being part of my musical family...

Hola la seleccion me parece bien mas sin embargo no entiendo que busca el jurado con los musicos, he visto mucho mejores presentaciones que estas, cada jurado que al parecer obvio se ponen de acuerdo pero he visto mejores entradas que estas, y se que no soy musico pero soy fans y uno sabe lo que es bueno y carismatico es mi parecer, ademas siempre veo que son los mismos personajes que ganan no les dan oportunidad a otros a que demuestren su talento siempre son los mismos rostros.
Disculpen que lo diga yo no participo en el concurso pero estoy siempre al tanto de cada talento para escucharlos y deleitarme con su musica, un consejo traten de motivar a esos musicos que estan ahi y son apasionados y muyyyy buenos, darles un credito porque siempre dicen que todos son excelentes pero siempre ganan los mismo.
Si ellos tienen alguna tecnica en el cual ustedes toman en cuenta entonces haganlo saber para que el resto de esos musicos tambien lo tomen en cuenta y lo hagan a futuros concursos. Por ejemplo dicen que pueden grabar con su telefono y sea totalmente en vivo y toda la cosa pero a veces noto que siempre gana el que tiene una camara super guaooo y eso ok eso se toma en cuenta, pero el talento que? eso no se toma en cuenta?, son un concurso bastante conocido para convertirlo trillado porque siempre siempre estan ganando los mismos esta semana son ellos la otra son cinco mas y la otra cinco mas entonces en la otra comienza de nuevo el ciclo y ganan estos porque ya hace dos semana no ganaron me parece injusto
Saludos y me despido porque quizas el comentario no guste y de verdad felicito al equipo y todo lo que hacen para apoyar a los musicos pero tengan en cuenta eso.
hola kcastillo... no te preocupes no me ofende tu comentario porque se lo hablas con sinceridad. Creo que tus puntos son validos, es bien dificil destacarse en un concurso como en el openmic. En lo personal, yo creo que con el pasar del tiempo se ha puesto mucho mas dificil, y continuara incrementando en su dificultad.
Cada juez tiene sus propios metodos de como elegir su lista, y obviamente calidad es subjetivo. Para mi, los temas originales siempre tienen mas peso que las interpretaciones, pero eso no es una regla.
En lo que se refiere a calidad, tienes razon en algo. Seria injusto comprar la calidad de una entrada por la calidad de video solamente, porque obviamente todos tienen diferentes recursos. En lo personal intento no dejarme influenciar tanto por eso, y escuchar los temas igual.
El trabajo de juez es aveces algo pesado, y soy humano... me equivoco como tal. Escuchar 300 canciones y luego elegir esta lista aveces me abruma. Pero intento mejorar cada semana.
Y si errar es de humano es verdad y como dices 300 canciones escucharlas en una semana es algo laborioso es cierto, pero yo tambien eh escuchado hasta 100 entradas y siempre tengo diferentes personajes porque simepre hay alguien mucho mejor lo que no entiendo es que siempre ganan los mismos siempre la seleccion al menos 3 de 5 son los mismos a eso me refiero me parece injusto si ya ustedes ven que ese personaje ya participo y gano en la semana pasada denle oportunidad a los demas buscar entonces el sexto mejor ya que los que elegiste te diste cuenta que estuvieron hace dos semanas, pues vamos entonces a descartarlos colocarlos en la lista de honorables y seguir buscando mas talento que se esfueran cada dia por seguir mejorando uff hay cantidades de talento esperando un lugar en su lista y he ahi lo que dijo vivo ejemplo, el comentario de la persona lecunberre que bien dice tantos talentos eficientes muy dificil lideral esos puestos, es ahi donde uno debe tomar en cuenta que a pesar de que pueda hacer una buena interpretacion o un tema original si no tiene buena calidad de video o sonido no entra, de verdad admiro el trabajo que hacen pero por favor sean mas concientes y dense cuenta de los post donde usteden eligen al gandor y noten que siempre siempre son los mismos personajes y no digo que sean buenos son EXCELENTES mis respetos pero todos deben tener oportunidades
Sabes Kcastillo, voy a tomar tus palabras seriamente y hacer un esfuerzo de ser mas dinamico la semana que viene. Quizas tomar en cuenta musica en otros idiomas que no sea espanol e ingles con mas atencion.
Muy bien gracias de verdad y la verdad no hablaba del idioma si no la calidad de interpretacion ya que la musica es un lenguaje universal y cantada en cualquier idioma es hermosa. Saludos
Generalmente, hay diferentes personas cada semana, pero en las últimas semanas ha habido algunas de las mismas personas. No sé cuánto tiempo has estado mirando pero, por lo general, es diferente todas las semanas
La verdad los sigo desde la semana 70 y ya van un monton de semana y siempre al menos 2 de 5 que escojen son los mismos, yo nodigo que no sean buenos porque son excelentes, pero si es un concurso deberia haber oportunidad para TODOS si esos pesonajes ganaron deberian ir descartando no digo que ya no ganen mas, porque entonces para que van a seguir participando pero si hablo de que les den un espacio a el resto que tambien se esmera cada semana, a eso me refiero ademas de que me he dado cuenta que buscan quienen hagan temas propios no en todos los casos pero es lo que mas veo, y hay muchos musicos que interpretan su instrumento con mucha pasion y cantan como los dioses y ni los nombran es mi parecer no para crear polemica solo es una sugerencia
Y quiero viajar por el mundo, ayer estaba dandole tantas vueltas a eso, y ahora no me pueden convencer de lo contrario tampoco, muchas gracias, por confiar en mi, por tomarte el tiempo de dedicarme palabras, por motivar, ha sido un crecimiento exponencial para mi en proporcion a los años pasados, no solo como cantante o guitarrista si no emocionalmente, en mi autoestima, gracias.
Con cantantes así tan rebuenos, muy poco chance tengo yo de figurar en los primeros lugares, je, je, je. Pero, igual, me complace felicitarles y desear a Dios que les bendiga su talento y a openmic por reconocerles. ¡Adelante!
