what is opensea?

OpenSea is the first and largest marketplace for digital goods. We've built the first (and largest) peer-to-peer marketplace for crypto assets, which include collectibles, gaming items, and other assets backed by a blockchain.

How does it work? To get started with OpenSea, simply plug in a Web3 wallet like MetaMask and go to the Browse tab. The application will automatically search your wallet for all the collectibles you have and the assets you need (like Ether) to buy items in the marketplace.

What are crypto collectibles? A crypto collectible is a digital asset. Unlike common tokens, which are identical and easily exchanged, crypto collectibles are non-fungible tokens. This is because their unique attributes mean that no two are the same, hence they are usually irreplaceable.
