SOME SHORT FACTS ABOUT BUDGIES.jpg

– Some people call them budgies, and some call them parakeets. Their full name is budgerigars. All budgies are quite very tiny birds. Average length of budgies is between 7 and 8 inches. (17.78 cm – 20.32 cm). Budgies in the native habitat are even smaller. We know two different types of these birds. The traditional budgie from Australia and the English budgie.

– English budgies are usually longer for 1 or 2 inches than Australian budgies. Budgies can talk even better than the larger parrots, but their voices are small and gravelly-sounding. Natural color for all budgies is yellow/green. But you will see a lot of different varieties colored budgies, which are color mutations in the bred for the pet trading. All these color mutations for budgies you won’t see in the natural habitat.
