The Strait of Otranto is located in the country of Italy in the central part of the Mediterranean Sea. The name of the strait comes from the city of the same name in Italy The width of the strait (75 km minimum) does not allow a bridge to be built across it, but from the point of view of navigation here it is a very convenient place for communication between East and West.
