How Steem impacted My Life - Can You Twit, Tweet, Twat, Whatever it’s called, This Article For Me❓
I’ve seen several of these posts lately and, like the majority of you, talking about myself isn’t an issue. The only real issue I see with this one is, I don’t have a Twitter account, danget! @theycallmedan, does that mean I’m disqualified? Speaking of disqualified, I’ve never had a Twitter account or even spent one second on their platform, that goes for Zuckface, too, Facezuck, whatever it’s called—true story. Fact—Steemit is the first and only platform I’ve ever attempted to be social in a social media type environment. So, reverting back to the title real quick, Dan, or @acidyo, I don’t know how those other platforms work but if either of you feel like sharing whatever I’m about to say over there, have at it—that goes for the rest of you too!
That opening paragraph is precisely what I meant about no issues talking about myself. Before I get started (I haven’t done that yet—started), thank you, @smasssh, for pointing out this #writing initiative to me, not sure how I missed it. 🤔 If you haven’t read how #steem has impacted his life, it’s a really good read, you can find it here. Now then, as I’ve been meaning to tell you since I started this thing, how has...
impacted my life?
For starters, I didn’t even know what a hyperlink was before joining this platform, I’ve already used three since beginning this article—thanks #steemit. PS—you should click that ‘impacted my life’ one, it moves and stuff.
I remember when I got my first @curie visit, oh man! Talk about rockstar status. I thought I made it to the big leagues like, “look out, world, here comes @dandays!” I drew this eyeball a couple of years ago (took forever to mine that old thing out just now) and my upvotes went from anywhere between 1 and 5, 10 on a good day, to 309 votes on that drawing—oh shyte! Well, I’ve been motivated ever since.
Three years ago, which equates to three decades in #blockchain time, way back when I didn’t know what a hyperlink was, I was also an infant to the #cryptocurrency world (I’m toddler status now). I managed to score some steem at one point, I probably got it at a discounted price or something, and was holding it at Bittrex—it was there for awhile. Then I finally decided to look into it.
I learned Steem is a blockchain. “Hmm.. 🤔 I’ve heard that wOrd before.” Upon further investigation, I learned it’s a blockchain based social media type platform. “Hmm.. 🤔 I’ve heard those words before, too.” When I discovered the use of SBD’s and SP and how authors are rewarded for their content in crypto, which is then tradable on many of the reputable exchanges, “sign me up!” That’s what I did, I’m going on three years now and haven’t looked back since—except when I’m mining old articles.
Like this time-lapsed recipe video I put together for my wife, the stunning @puravidaville. I talked her into registering a steemit account, too, her and about a dozen other people. I’m telling you this because I’m still that guy who didn’t know what a hyperlink was and who hasn’t spent one second on any of those other social media joints. Now I’m doing stuff like producing, on-boarding, curating, editing and mastering drawing/cooking videos. Tech savvy is not my strong suit, like trying to teach a cat how to play fetch.. with a soccer ball.. that’s deflated.. it takes time. I’m still getting the hang of it and I’m proud of my progress—thanks Steemit.
So, in response to the title of this article, Steem has impacted my #life...
positively.
I learned how to do that, too, thanks to Steemit—edit images I find on Pixabay by drawing circles on them. I also learned the difference between copyright free images and all of the other images on the internet. Copyright free images, such as all of the photos found at Pixabay, Unsplash, and Pexels are Creative Commons images meaning you’re free to use them for profit, everything else used to generate profit is illegal, that’s called copyright infringement—thanks Steemit.
What haven’t I learned? I probably shouldn’t pose that question to myself. I still can’t bite my tongue and prevent myself from saying what I think, when I think it, the only difference between this virtual space and reality is I use my thumbs to do that here and my wife doesn’t have to punch me and tell me to stop—“DO.NOT get him started!” Which reminds me, I probably wouldn’t get away with half of the things I say on Steemit if I had one of those Bluetube, instabookaface accounts, whatever they’re called—Steemit is censorship free (my record number of daily downvotes don’t count—those are just maggots).
Am I still talking typing about myself? I learned how to do that, too, not the unable to stop talking about myself part, the crossing words out crossing words out part. I even learned how to make them small which comes in handy when typing BIG “small”—thanks Steemit. But I haven’t even addressed the people I’ve met here yet, believe it or not, I’m just as good at talking about my virtual stranger friends. That brings us to our next paragraph.
”Engagement”
Apparently that wOrd isn’t specific to the matrimony between a man and a woman. Man and man, woman/woman, transgender and whatever the’fa kelce we’re using to identify ourselves these days in an attempt to bypass the fact we’re all just humans. See what I mean? I wrote that last sentence to point out you can say that kind of stuff on Steemit without the threat of your page being removed because you’re not adhering to the social misconception of what’s portrayed to be politically correct. I’m still talking about myself, ain’t I? Danget! I’ll try harder in the next paragraph.
I’ve met some really cool people here. I have a list of virtual strangers I’ve engaged with even more than a significant portion of my reality friends whom I’ve known my whole life—is that weird? I don’t think so, there’s just some really good people on this platform. For fear of leaving someone out, I won’t attempt to name each of you but I think the following paragraph(s) will cover everyone.
There’s some DIY’ers on this platform whose children and family are lucky to have them. People so determined to get me drunk I can’t remember the last time I ordered my own beer. There’s a dude dawn’unda who loves his wife as much I do—mine, love mine. He loves his wife as much as I #love my wife—that’s what I meant. This platform has chefs, personal trainers, personal trainers and chefs, homesteaders and gardeners with valuable tips everyone can benefit from. Oh, musicians, too, there’s plenty of those on this platform, one is just down the country from me right now. There’s grandma’s, sisters, sons and brothers, old timers, whiners, poets and mothers—they’re all here. I should probably begin the next paragraph. I have plenty of things to say about the quality of steemians this platform has to offer
There’s a fine young lady in South Africa who really knows how to make a mess, there’s one of those in Florida, too, Washington State, Indonesia, New York, Tokyo, they throw down from all over the place. And curators, quality curators everywhere, not Philadelphia, though—she’s not a witch, either. And #funny, there’s plenty of steemians who make me laugh consistently like this one really old guy in New York and another in Texas, Oregon, Nigeria, Finland, Norway, there’s quite a few. They’re not rough around the edges like I am, per se, more like satin and baby powder, but I check in regularly to see if they’ve posted anything—I can always count on them for a good a laugh.
What I’m trying to say is, Steem hasn’t impacted my life at all, can you tell? That’s rhetorical—that whole sentence was a lie or, fabrication, whichever you’d like to call it. You can learn how to do that here too—fabricate. Metal, of course, not fabricate as in strreeeetttchh the truth. I should’ve put a number symbol pound sign hashtag next to truth.
#truth. We believe we discovered the root of Pura’s illness thanks to Steemit. The same illness we’ve been battling for nearly two years that has since been all but diagnosed in less than two weeks after reaching out to a platform full of virtual strangers—we’re scheduled for a medical exam this Friday to confirm the infection @jaguar.force discovered.
#travel. I’ve since been logging our travel experiences on Steemit since beginning this traveliving journey a little over a year ago. Where else do you have an infinite amount of blockchain space to save thousands of images and travel memories that will safely last a lifetime? Nowhere, that’s where—thanks Steemit. So, how has Steem impacted my life? :echo: “Positively.”
#thanks. Thanks for reading my articles, thanks for following my content and thanks for having me. Keep posting your articles, ‘@‘ everyone, I look forward to reading them and learning about what you’re getting yourself into, or getting yourself out of, same thing. This was a good idea, Dan, cool name btw (that’s short for ‘by the way’—learned that on Steemit too), I didn’t like it at all, can you tell? Steem has a lot to offer, those of you who are just tuning in, this lengthy article barely scratched the surface.
You rang for some Twitter support? Hold on...
And done...https://twitter.com/PlantsToPlanks/status/1217572750421843969 #posh
Now I guess I should actually read the article...
You won't regret, promise ...
@dandays pretty much always keeps this personal trainer/chef entertained. 😉

🤔 "Pretty much?" The fuuuuu...
Insert winking emoji with its tongue sticking out and it’s pierced and the tongue ring thingy is one of these: ⁉️
Haha, well to be fair there was that one time that you shared about your ailing wifey. That wasn't entertaining. Necessary, real, raw and honest, perhaps, but not entertaining, so there. 😜
Ahh.. touché. That emoji thing I described is now staring at me in the mirror.
Well what would the world be like without a few ladies in your life to keep you in line? 😉 Speaking of, send Pura some spud and cruciferous veggie love from me.
Step back everybody! My
favoritesecond favorite Plant (and aunt) to the rescue! Thanks, @plantstoplanks, I’m going to copy and paste this over to Dan (another one those things I learned how to do on Steemit) though he already paid me a visit—like curie but even cooler... “culie?” Have I mentioned lately I’m The Luckiest Guy I Know? <— in case you haven’theardread.Your continued support through all of those edges I mentioned is one of the things that keeps me coming back. THANK YOU but bigger than that.
I’m back.. When I clicked that link to copy it, I was directed to Twitter. First time I’ve been there and it was so cool to see my article, @plantstoplanks, and the kind words you said. Man, coolest thing I’ve seen all day. Way to bring me down to real and not so much humor. A big virtual kiss on the face right here.
Happy to use those Twitter forces for good and not evil as so many other blowhards do. ;) Not us Steemians, though. There are some rad folks on there doing their best to pump up and promote the blockchain. I didn't think I would like it, but the fact that you are limited to only so many characters actually makes it an easier experience for introverts like me. Come to think of it, might be why you haven't jumped on there yet. 😂
Just joshing you, I enjoy your verbose replies. They're almost as good as @traciyork's customized gifs...😜
You make it really hard to end a conversation, I have the same issues with @thebigsweed. Hey, does that mean you can hook me up with some syrup?! Cuz that dude is stingy with his!
Traci who? York? The one not from PA? Nah.. never heard of her.
Oooh I would totally head up his way and try to "sweet" talk him out of a jug of that fresh maple goodness. Maybe I'd share if I were successful. ;)
Psssstt, she's a little further north than that. ;)
It’s a whole long story about how she took her boys there once because it’s called York but they don’t even live in Pa, etc etc etc etc. So I call her Traci, not from Pa.
Seems I got this thing with nicknaming people I guess, learned that at Steemit too I suppose. 🤔 Hey, do you have one for me?! I don’t expect you do but if you do, I’d love know what it is.
Well shoot, totally missed that "Not". Now I'm the one with the emoji looking back at me in the mirror, hahaha!
Hhhhmm, I'm not usually one to give nicknames, but might have to think of one special just for you.
I'm envious of how you sound like a drunkard while being sober. It's an art and talent at the same time. This is casually the best entry of the lot damn I love it
I saved this one for last. Dude, I read this out loud to my wife twice.
With all due respect to every comment I’ve ever received, this is arguably the coolest one of all time. Thanks, man! Feel free to drop me a line any time just
don’t ever forget to one-up this particular commentremember how nice I was when you left me this one!Though what I’m about to do may not pay dividends, know that I’ve only done this about 10 times since joining this platform AND it’s pink! Whoever don’t like pink don’t like, well, you know...
Thank you for your support, @belemo, your kind words, and thank you kindly for the Resteem. You’re one of those
boringazzfunny people I mentioned in this article you know!I had a feeling you were referring to me when you mentioned Nigeria and thanks for the sexy compliment. I'll save it in the same place I store my alcohol because it holds a special place in my heart.
Congratulations @dandays! You have completed the following achievement on the Steem blockchain and have been rewarded with new badge(s) :

for you
I sure am glad you liked it @eii. Thank you for always supporting what I’m doing around here even though your guess is as good as mine as to what it is exactly that I’m doing. “Wingin it.” But you’ve supported me regardless for quite some time now and I appreciate it.
Thanks for keeping my steem-engine jingling full of tokens! Enjoy the rest of our week, sir.
It is my pleasure @dandays.

Waoow. I guess nobody could tell Steemit like that. Like an adventure :) I read it in a snap even though it was a long article. I learned a lot about you and Steemit. Thank you very much for sharing your experiences :) It has been a pleasant article.
Yes!! I’m glad you liked it, @avare. My pleasure, I really enjoyed putting it together. Not quite as grim as that presidential candidacy one, Eh? 😉
Thank you bigger than THIS for your continued support and it’s my pleasure to add my articles to your feed—it’s refreshing when I receive such sincere responses like this.
I’m working on another one now that I just took pictures for yesterday, I’ll probably wait until Monday night to release it, it’s a cross between poetry and a tour of the city we’re currently in—I found a river yesterday. 👍🏿 I hope you enjoy it. See you there, @avare, and thank you for always being so kind. Happy Sunday—enjoy the rest of your weekend.
Good evening @dandays, nicely done my friend. I feel the same way, I have learned so much since my time on steemit, and if you are a toddler I most certainly am an infant. But learning new stuff is a daily occurrence in my life, not just on this platform, but in life. I like a good challenge although at times I do still get frustrated when I can't figure something out. All I know is that I enjoy it, have virtually met tons of really interesting people and so enjoy seeing and reading about different cultures and of course FOOD .
Now add in our first friends' world travel experiences...Jackpot!!
Thanks for all your help and support my friend. Screw all the dark hearts and downers, just brush them off like the gnats they are, remember you are the luckiest guy you know.😉😎😋
You’re such a grandma! Know why? Because you just made me smile in my eyes. Seems every time you respond to me I break out of my comedy character and just listen, like any half intelligent person would do when a grandmother is speaking.
Thank you for always being so nice, it’s my pleasure to have assisted you while journeying this platform, really! Your blog has evolved so nicely and I’m proud to have been able to assist a lending hand once or twice. I believe it went like this, “I don’t know a lot, but I’ll teach you everything I know.”
God bless the whole farm, @farm-mom, happy Friday, and thank you for always being so supportive.
Best thing you could say to me...You’re such a grandma!
I always watch people's eyes when I listen to them talk or laugh, you know it's for real when you see the eyes. My family has so many pictures of me with my eyes practically closed, cos I am always smiling or laughing when I am with them.
I like your style @dandays ❤to pura.
Ditto on everything you included in this piece.
"We believe we discovered the root of Pura’s illness thanks to Steemit." Hopefully, the doc confirms your beliefs so that @puravidaville can get on with her life!
Thanks for always being in our corner as we stumbled and bumbled through the learning process here on Steemit, without your help we'd still be stumbling and bumbling, now we're just bumbling.
Did someone say mumbling? Speaking of fumbling, I don’t know how I missed this comment. Must have something to do with that non tech savvy thing I said back when I said whatever I said. <— that sentence must have something to do with that blockchain time thing I was talking about way back when I talked about it. Dude.. sometimes I just get to bumbling and rumbling with you and I often wonder “how in the F did this conversation get to its current state?!” (that’s funny) Humbling.. that’s the one! You’ve never ceased humbling me, my friend. In more ways than one, this particular moment because I could do this rumble, ramble, mumbo-jumbo, whatever it’s called, and know you’re right there with me! Mono-e-mono.
Back when I thanked your wife (and somehow missed this message), I quoted what I said to her about a year ago, do you remember it? “I don’t know much but I’ll teach you everything I know.” The same gesture, wOrd for wOrd, stands as I type this message (“ditto”). My pleasure, @thebigsweed, you know you have my full support around here and I’m thankful to have you guys in my corner.
(I used a lot of paranthesis in this response, huh?)
Wow @dandays … this is probably one of the best posts you ever produced, but I'm holding judgement until I wake up from my nap and finish reading it :>)
Now, now Don't all you Dan-Fan, Groupies get all huffy and bent outta shape because of my superior, sarcastic wit...(Jealous Bastards...)
Coming from a really old guy in New York, I’m really glad you think so, sir, THANK YOU. <— bigger than that.
(maybe I should wait until my second cup before I click the send button) Nah...
Thanks, @angryman, I’d be lying if I didn’t say I was a little concerned when you were awol recently. I’m a big fan of your articles too. It’s my pleasure to put these together for you, thank you for always being so supporting. Mushy, mushy, something else, mushy, another something else, ok, you can return to your nap now. ZzzzZZzzzzzz
Thanks, @angryman. Regardless of what character I’m in to put these articles together for you,
they’rewe’re all very appreciative of your continued support. Happy Friday, sir.You bundled a few comments back to me (which is okay) I'm trying to respond in the order they appear, so here goes...
#1 Above:
Concerned for my well-being, or concerned that I abandoned the platform? I've been here over two years now, and occasionally I pull a disappearing act for various personal reasons. Though when I do vanish...I usually stop in to check my friends activities, curate and sometimes comment. If I don't comment, I think that some people don't even realize I left them a vote because my name may not appear on their drop down menu; too far behind others with higher vote value (Mine is only .01 centavos at 100% presently)
I'm not the type who leaves comments all the time, just to leave a comment unless I feel that it has something of potential value within it (most of the time) Yet, I almost ALWAYS respond back to comments left for me (A sign that I'm an extremely Noble person of great value to the planet)
Unless of course, the comment is a common spam like comment or hateful. In that case, I usually just silently continue on my journey here (Especially with the Trolls) I'm too old to fuss with that useless game :>)
Nice to hear from you brudda.
Regards,
The Old Guy from New York (And, comfortably so...)
*(guess I’m guilty of a copy/paste response this morning because apparently I like to respond to myself! I’ve done that a few times lately. 🤔) Ok, here it is, the response I meant to respond to you and instead sent it to myself.

I’m back. There, you’ve been warned.
Your well being actually, I was concerned for you, yourself. But now that you’re back I guess I was a little concerned to deserted the platform—glad that isn’t the case. So I’m going with 85/15, your well-being is the heavier side.
Not sure if well-being and heavier side have ever made sense when smashed together like that but you know what I mean.
Mushy, mushy, something else, mushy again, and two more something else’s.
Happy Sunday, @angryman! Enjoy the rest of your weekend.
Yeah, like you I too like to comment to myself sometimes, then respond back :>) Keeps life interesting that way, especially when starved for attention.
Have you touched down in Greece now? Hope you and Pura are doing fine wherever ya iz.
Negative, sir. We’ve already done did Greece, went east to west. That was during your 3 month cooling period. Then Israel. Speaking of cooling off, we’re currently U.K. where it’s anything but cooling off—its’fa king freezing!
It was only about six weeks or so, but it looked like two months according to how steemit tags stuff.
THREE months...!?!?!?!? Well...damn, I must have really been missed then.
You know how blockchain time advances.
I’m back. There, you’ve been warned.

Great post. I shared on Twitter.
Thank you so much @melinda010100, I always appreciate what you have to say. You’re one of those quality curators I mentioned ya know! Enjoy the rest of your week, Melinda, and thank you for getting this one on Twitterpated... whatever it’s called. 😉

I know 5 resteems is pretty incredible, is that good for Trotter (whatever it’s called)? And people are actually commenting, are they non-Steemit users who are commenting? How frikkin cool is that?!
Thank you so much @melinda010100, having your support is such an honor. Your family is lucky to have you young lady. 👍🏿
I believe non Steem users can view and read our posts, but they must have a Steem account to interact and comment and vote.
Can you see my smile? Melinda, cool if I call you that? Thank you for that screen shot, you made my eyeballs smile!
Mel works, too and is faster to type! I'm not a fan of Twitter and I'm sure I am not using it very efficiently, but I'll continue sharing posts there because people do see it and it gets our name out there!
