About a year ago I i inherited a small amount of money. I decided to do something for myself and learn to paint. So i bought what i needed to do that. So I am a poor stick figure artist trying to find my creative self.
One night unable to sleep i decided to draw a picture,I have on my wall. I saw in the movies tgat oeople use their pebcil to decide how big to make things on their paper by holding it out at arms length with one eye closed so I did this. Over a couple of days this is what happened.
I drew simething that had a strong resemblence to the pucture i copied. So i thought maybe I can draw. Then i would try to draw and it was a,disaster. Then i wiuld try something else and hey. That was nit no bad and,so one.
Then I researched what I should buy for paints,and bought what I thought I would need.
Then I came,across an artist named Mark Carder who works with a limited palette, meaning titanium white, cadmium red, cadmium pale yellow,Ultra marine blue and burnt umber. He teaches how you can mix almost any color you need from these few.
Then come setting up a studio with proper lighting for my small area. I use 3 led 5000k 100 what equivalent bulbs from menards. Bought some black room darkening curtains from amazon that work great and were very inexpensive and my husband built me a still life box with proer lighting.
I have done a few paintings while waiting to get it all set up , some to show where I am now so I can see my progrss over the next year. As soon as i figure out how to post picture I will start putting them on here. WIP=work in progress. I will put up all the successes and fails and downright uglies. I do appreciate constructive criticism but please be kind. I am 65 and still learning and enjoy learning from others. I have health issues that limit what I can do but will post as often as I can.
