The treatment is based on the companionship of the cat itself and how it influences reducing symptoms of stress, anxiety and low mood, helping to improve our physical and mental condition only through a healthy interaction between the cat and the person.
Cats and people
Since time immemorial, humans have domesticated certain species, being able to live with them without fear of reproducing wild instincts that endanger life itself. Cats have been with humans for thousands of years just like dogs except that dogs in remote times were used for hunting and grazing activities and personal safety.
In Egypt for example cats were synonymous with divinity, we are talking about 3000 BC so everything indicates that the first civilization to domesticate it was Egyptian and from there expanded the techniques of breeding and reproduction to other parts of the world.
The cat and its anti-stress benefits
The cat as much as its wild cousins as the tigers and lions are very autonomous, and the bond that developing with the human is the same one that they pact with those of its same species, the respect is the maximum condition in the personality of the cat, they have habits of approach to stimulate through caresses which is propitious for that in the human arise some amazing changes, only caressing a cat can relax us and lower our blood pressure diminishing an altered state of anxiety.
The most astonishing thing is the communicative capacity between the cat and the human and vice versa, after a few minutes of caressing a cat, if this one feels safe and calm it will respond with the purring this is an indicator that the cat is pleased and the human when feeling that answer perceives it through the tact and of auditive form changing its state of low mood for one more happy and sensation of well-being. This helps significantly to convalescent patients.
