For close to a decade now, I've known of a very peculiar character aptly named Vermin Supreme, a colorful character that sports a boot for a hat. Now, you may commit the mistake of dismissing him right away, since it's obvious that he's not being serious, more so as a presidential candidate, but you might be missing the point altogether.

His platform, his promise, may be "free ponies for everyone", but you would be wrong if you thought he had nothing of substance to say. As a matter of fact, I'm constantly impressed with his eloquence, and clarity of mind when he communicates with his followers and critics.

You might ask yourself: Why do this? I think the answer is simple, but we may not be too comfortable with it. Our democracy is a joke, and he is the one "political candidate" who clearly reminds us this whole thing is nothing more than a charade.

A spectacle of promises that will never be kept, solutions that don't solve a thing all wrapped up in pretty words, tribalism and shenanigans.

You might deduce that he's running as a libertarian, since no party would accept his particular quirkiness, and you would be correct. But you would be gravely mistaken if you think he's not one to criticize his fellow libertarians if need be for walking and talking the same contradictions of the two mafias we call political parties.
