To Yell or Not To Yell

in #palnet5 years ago

I'm a yeller.

And a controlling personality type - with a "superior" secondary personality type - (when you take the test for yourself you'll know what that is...(as if you couldn't already gander a guess!)).

This has not boded well for my relationship with my 13 year old.

I mean, how could it?

The heartbreaking pain of watching him close down towards me and not knowing what to do about it.

Knowing there has to be a better way to relate...but not knowing what it is, or how to find it.

Going to bed at night thinking, "I love my child. I want him to feel that love. Not this distressed, angry person I become. How do I fix this? I wish I knew."

And then...

like magic...

I happened on this ad:

"That's what I need!"

I clicked on the link and signed up for the free webinar, which, by chance was starting in the next 5 minutes!

(That was some speedy prayer answering!)

I listened to the class.

I wrote everything down.

I applied what I learned...

and had immediate RESULTS!

Simply.

Easily.

And much to my relief!!

Hugs and kisses abound from my son now.

The house is quiet - well not quiet - there's simply no yelling anymore - unless it's in fun!

And I go to bed thinking, "I'm so happy we're getting along. Everything feels so good. I'm so very grateful."

Sound too good to be true?

Check it out for yourself.

I believe you'll be forever glad you did, like I am!

Our children need us to be the loving yet guiding parents we want to be in our hearts by communicating in ways that bring our children closer to us rather than push them away.
