Types of Parents
Researchers have been studying ways to parent and the effects they have on kids for years. There are many ways to parent. We can't say one of them is the right way but we can categorize them. I will categorize them under four titles. They are Overprotective Parents, Perfectionist Parents, Authoritative Parents, Incoherent Parents. So, you will have an idea about ways to parent. You can decide which way is true to you.
Overprotective Parents
These parents have an excessive love of their kids. They aren't likely to use strict discipline; discipline is almost non-existent. Almost every time, they look with favor on whatever their kids do. These parents set their kids free. And generally, these kids aren't open to criticism so they can't improve themselves. They generally have difficulty in social situations and school because they get used to irregularity.
Perfectionist Parents
These parents have excessive love as well. But they likely to use strict discipline. They expect behavior in a mature way from their kids. These parents want to control every choice which their kids have done. Parents don't support their kids. These kids don't have self-confidence. They are afraid of make a mistake.
Authoritative Parents
These parents try to be kids' guide. They give them pieces of advice. Some experts claim that authoritative parenting is the most successful way. In this way, kids aware of what is required of them and they feel confident. Parents are less stressed in this parenting way, too, which makes the child feel a secure attachment. This is a win-win for everybody. These parents don't abstain communicate their standards to their kids.
Incoherent Parents
These parents react differently to the same behavior. It's about how they feel at that moment. They may have a harsh response or not. So, this situation may affect their kids negatively. Parents should get on the same page. They should decide which behavior must be awarded or punished. These kids generally can't decide what she or he should do.
So, now you have an idea about these four ways to parent. The most successful one is the Authoritative way. Of course, you can find other ways to parent in other sources. We can understand that the communication between mother and father is very important. So, they can communicate with their kids in the right way. Thanks to this, kids can improve themselves easily and quickly and they don't have any difficulty in school or social life.
