Preparation Via Responsibility
Children should be encouraged to carry the level of responsibility that is appropriate for their age. Each year the child should make more of his or her own decisions. We should give conscious thought to the reasonable, orderly transfer of freedom and responsibility so that we are preparing the child for full independence.
