Yes! I am a Single Mother by Choice (I Decided to Raise a Child, Not to Marry One)
I was pregnant at the age of 20 years old, and I am graduating student in that time.
The moment I saw two (2) lines in pregnancy test I felt like I am scared and nervous. I am scared of my parents, "What if they will know my situation? I overthink their possible reactions". I am nervous because I am only a student that time, and I don't have income.
I did not expect that the guy will left me after what happen to us. I am asking for support to live the baby in my womb. He avoided me, he did not reply every time I left a message to him.
Oh Gosh!! I don't know what to do...
It is come to the point that I fulled of doubt/confusion "overthinking the question of What if? Why? How to?..."
Because of this situation, I overthink what should I choose? LIFE or CAREER
LIFE - I will raise my baby without a father even I had no job. Even, I can't fully support my baby in terms of financial.
CAREER - I will cut off the life of my baby just to continue my dreams and career. But, it makes my life unhappy.
Thanks to God because I choose LIFE!
Finally, On March 23, 2014 I graduated with the degree of Bachelor of Science in Business Administration major in Operations Management. And secretly I am 3 months pregnant in that event. My parents did not know yet my situation.
I am so bleesed and thankful because I hired in Financial Institution even the President know that I am pregnant. I start to work on April 1, 2014 until now.
6 months pregnant.
August 12, 2014 I gave birth. A cesarean operation because of dry labor.
Here's my baby boy named Zion Uziriel Calibo
I Know it is hard being a single mother but I'd rather do it by myself than with someone who doesn't want to.
I do so admire those who are alone. Alone to raise a part of their future. I do not think there is a greater task, to be the only adult in the child's life. What you do is twice as rewarding. Twice the love for a single mother. You also are the one to receive twice as much from your child. Being a single mother is not a life full of struggles, but a journey for the strong.
