Dearest thanks for sharing. But I think I disagree with your perspective on how the church (building) is run when Jesus said (Matt.16.18) upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.
In the above stated scripture, Jesus was referring to Believers and not a building.
What really matters in that we worship in spirit and truth. This is not to say that the building should be used irresponsibly...
Thanks for sharing though
Well spoken @korexe. My write up was not on The Church Universal, am commenting on the use of the building. When Jesus got to the Tempel and met the sellers and the buyers with the money changers, his reaction was not to their business but he complained about turning his father's house meant for prayers to the den of lions.
You can see my point from this angle. There is nothing wrong in churches building event centers for social gartherings but why will a building consecrate and dedicated for the worship of a deity be turned into something else. This is just my point.
May I also let you know from findings that even though the said Cathedral has not been filled with people but the leadership stood on the argument of modernisation so they decided to build another one.
I agree with you on your quotation of the bible that we humans are the church that Jesus was referring to.
Thanks for stopping by to read and comment on my post.
You are greatly appreciated.
