Imagine being born in 1900. At 14, you witness the start of World War I, which ends when you're 18, claiming 22 million lives. Shortly after, the Spanish flu pandemic strikes, killing 50 million people by the time you're 20. At 29, you endure the Great Depression, marked by the New York Stock Exchange crash, leading to inflation, unemployment, and hunger. By 33, Nazism rises to power. At 39, World War II begins, ending when you're 45 with 60 million dead. At 52, the Korean War starts, and by 64, the Vietnam War begins, concluding when you're 75.

Now, someone born in 1985 might think their grandparents don't understand hardship, unaware they've survived numerous wars and catastrophes. Today, we've endured a pandemic and are weary and afraid. Yet, humanity has overcome worse in the past. Believe me, better days await us.
