PDATA: Revolutionizing Brokerage of Personal Data

in #pdata6 years ago (edited)

Companies, worldwide, needs personal data from customers to be able to create products which will interest consumers or answer their pressing need. Theses information ranges from:

  • Basic Identity information like name, address, and identity numbers
  • Web data like IP address, cookie data
  • Health and genetic data
  • Biometric data
  • Racial and ethnic data
  • Political opinions
  • Sexual orientation
  • Etc

These data will give the companies information necessary to understand their consumers thus creating products and services that are more widely accepted by consumers. This will increase their yield and subsequently popularity. These data are also used in the design of marketing materials for a targeted audience for more visibility and acceptability.

How companies get their data

Presently companies get their customers data from data brokers.
Consumers use internet services or web applications; these applications or services get their personal data without their knowing, conscious or willing approval. Smartphones request for locations, contacts, and 0ther personal information while in use, website caches store information about consumers location, etc; these are some means data brokers get user data and sell them to companies that need them at high cost. Some of these data are of low quality, and fake. When these data are used they give wrong information about consumers and this means a total waste of money by the company.

Users nowadays began to know that their privacy have been infringed, so they use various security means or measures to ensure their personal data stays secure. So it becomes hard for data brokers to get high quality consumer personal data. For this reason, personal data became so high in cost especially for companies. Yet companies need these data if they are going to be relevant in their field.

Solution

There are no other solution, to benefit both the companies that needs data and the consumer who needs their data protected than a project that leverages or utilizes the blockchain technology to connect them both while eliminating all intermediaries to securely transfer personal data between both parties involved, other than PDATA.

PDATA radically changes todays centralized way of personal data brokerage. We are building the first Ethereum blockchain based marketplace for the secure trading of personal data. PDATA creates a central marketplace where businesses can buy personal data directly from consumers without any middlemen. The PDATA token puts value in personal data and creates a currency that exactly expresses their value.

Pdata is a global decentralized marketplace which directly connects consumers who wish to share their high quality data with companies who need them for a price determined by the quality of the data provided by the consumer.

Consumer Benefit

Pdata creates a platform which helps consumer to secure their personal data and actively decide whom to share their personal data with. It also allows consumer to sell their personal data to any company of their choice for a price that is determined by the level or quality of the data they provided.
Consumers or customers create a profile on the platform and give Pdata the authorization to begin to collect their personal data through browser plugin, smartphone app, wearables, smart devices, surveys, etc. They decide what level of their personal information to be disclosed to Pdata. The more the information, the more valuable their data is.

Security for Consumers

All personal data are stored and encrypted on a distributed ledger. These information are accessible only with a decryption key. At the point of exchange, Pdata makes sure that only the company that is granted access by the consumers is able to decrypt data, thus ensuring the security of the users.

Company Benefit

Pdata connects consumers and companies directly without middlemen to securely share consumer personal. This ensures the data collected are high quality thus helping the company.

The company gets access to a willing population of consumers to give out quality personal data not by unscrupulous means. This will accelerate their growth level and help them in marketing their product.

The platform allows companies to create, distribute and analyze surveys. Surveys that can be created on the platform are of two types: Mobile surveys which are made up of one or several questions which can only be answered once and the mobile diaries which allows multiple answering to track consumer interest or experiences over a period of time. The mobile diaries are also enhanced with geolocation. Thus analyzes are shown chronologically on a map to show the experiences of the consumer.
Companies can also select which group of audience the survey is sent to e.g. male or female, age bracket, geographical location, etc. The survey feedback are automatically analyzed on the platform and the geolocation where the feedback is coming from is explicitly displayed.

PDATA token

The PDATA token is used for the purchase of personal data by the companies. These personal data are used to determine who to send surveys. Customers or consumers also earn token when they sell their data and participate in surveys.
Consumers are able to hold PDATA tokens. The more the token held by the consumer, the more requests they get from companies to access their data. Consumers also earn token for signing up, installing Pdata application and browser plugin.
