My New Role as CEO of eXeBlock and What It Means for PeerplayssteemCreated with Sketch.

I am happy to share some news with all of you today regarding the recent press release that went out which announced the acquisition of a new private entity I have founded called eXeBlock Technologies Inc.

This new entity is a pure play blockchain development company which will be dedicated to the development of decentralized DAPPs and blockchains.

This means that it brings with it additional resources which I will direct in a manner to ensure the profitability for its shareholders.

For Peerplays this means resources have been redoubled and another party interested in seeing it’s development now can become involved. While PBSA (Peerplays Blockchain Standards Association) has been working hard as a non-profit to introduce the provable fair standards, eXeBlock is a for-profit that can potentially provide a framework which other for-profit businesses worldwide may want to adopt in how they choose to build with Peerplays.

To be clear, this means that eXeBlock anticipates building additional DAPPs on Peerplays.

As many of you know, I have been dedicated to ensuring the Peerplays project has been transparent and clear in its vision and path to providing a provable fair blockchain to the world. My role at eXeBlock will be rather different however. I will be subject to securities, rules, and regulations as laid out in Canada, and so plans and potential projects which eXeBlock may be working on as they relate to Peerplays or any other blockchain I will not be able to discuss in private or answer individual questions unless and until an official public announcement to that effect has been made.

I know in the blockchain space there is an expectation of knowing about things before they happen often times, but the standard going forward will be only what everyone else knows is what you should know too so that everyone can always be assured there are not other parties who have some kind of privileged information.

All that said, I wanted to make this post to be clear to everyone that my dedication and loyalty to the Peerplays Blockchain and my roles are responsibilities as they relate to it are in no ways diminished by this news, but rather enhanced.

I am looking forward to working with everyone who has expressed interest in developing new blockchain games for Peerplays and finding ways we can bring more transparency and provable fairness to the world.

This new entity is a pure play blockchain development company

What does "pure play" mean? Or is it spell check-ese for Peerplays?

Means we are totally dedicated to decentralized blockchain development. There are lots of companies dabbling with it and looking at ways to incorporate it into their existing business. None are actually purely dedicated to it though as we are.

Thanks for the info. Good that you are transparent sharing what's going on. It makes the project look solid.

Seems like good news but PPY down 50% in a week... hmmm

Good to buy more. :)

Don't do that.
This is a die on the vine project.

By looking at the name, of the user, it looks like they are focusing on another "coin" vs. Peerplays. I wouldn't take too much from the FUD.

Not saying it is, but would this be considered a conflict of interest?

It would be if there were two other factors in this type of scenario:

  1. PBSA was a for-profit entity which was seeking to profit from its activities. In forming another for-profit entity I would be in conflict as to which entity should be profiting from whatever business I might bring.
Not the case because: PBSAs roll as a non-profit however is in providing provable fair gaming standards in the Peerplays blockchain meant to enable other entities to utilize it for their own incentivized interests, be they for-profit corporations, individuals, governments, or other organizations. PBSA opportunities come from finding opportunities for Peerplays to grow and find others that wish to work with it where eXeBlocks interests are in making profit from the work it does on Peerplays. It's in the PBSAs interest to see eXeBlock succeed in that mission so as to provide a template for others to utilize the Peerplays blockchain.

  2. I was running off and creating another gaming blockchain.
Not the case because: This post already states that my dedication is to Peerplays development. My role now however enables me to bring far far more resources and possibilities to the table than I am capable of doing in the PBSA. Even if I created a private company to do this it would not work due to various legal risks putting myself in that position. Being a public entity is what made this a very unique and special opportunity. We are going to be able to provide work with and help other companies to utilize the Peerplays blockchain far beyond anything the PBSA could do as a non-profit.

Both teams are going to work on making the Peerplays blockchain the global standard in provable fair gaming by taking different approaches. Myself acting both as CEO and President with both entities just enables me to double up the efforts with two great teams of people bringing transparency, fairness, and decentralization to the world of gaming in different ways.
