Good afternoon community of steemit, in this opportunity I want to share with you the following information; that I consider relevant because of our constant interaction with the computer or computer and that surely at some point we have suffered from some of the following symptoms: Eye irritation, blurred vision, headaches, back pain, to mention a few, summarized in what many authors call, "Computer Visual Syndrome or Computer Visual Syndrome", which ensures that 75% of people who work with computers suffer visual discomfort, either during their workday, or study, or even those who They use the computer for games or hobbies.

The red eye is the most frequent ocular problem in the medical consultation; Although almost all cases are usually benign, others are a manifestation of serious eye damage. Injuries can be due to infections, allergies, shock or mechanical irritation and can be short or long lasting.

Other symptoms are of real alarm, such as the sharp and sudden decrease in visual acuity, pain and rejection of light, which makes the doctor think of acute inflammation of the iris (iritis) or iris and choroid ( uveitis), a damage of the cornea (keratitis, corneal ulcer) or acute glaucoma (of the Greek glaucoma, greenish eye), among others.

Conjunctivitis: Minced onion is not the only cause, the most frequent cause of red eyes is acute conjunctivitis, which can be viral (more frequent or bacterial); Other causes are chemical agents or substances causing allergy.

Diseases of the eyelids: A stye is the infection of the glands and the hair follicle of the eyelashes located along the edge of the eyelids. They start suddenly as a punctuated inflamed and painful area, and swelling of the affected eyelid. Drains spontaneously in a few days and its manifestations are limited to the eyelid and only occasionally produces red eye.

Now, how to avoid these visual discomforts?

Undoubtedly that the vast majority of preventive measures, will depend on the attitude taken when assimilating the tips of Visual Hygiene: Use your vision correctly following these simple tips.

Perform periodic visual examinations: The ophthalmologist will be able to detect visual anomalies that negatively influence your visual performance.

In addition, you should follow some recommendations:

Blink continuously to prevent the pupils from drying out, especially if you wear contact lenses.

Periodically change the direction of your gaze to rest the ocular nerve.

Perform peripheral vision exercises.

Keep the monitor screen clean for easy reading and avoid reflections.

Adjust the lighting of the room to avoid the reflection of light on the screen.

Use filters that darken the brightness of the screen and decrease the dissipation of ultraviolet rays (glass or plastic instead of mesh, since it tends to collect dust).

Adjust the brightness of the screen.

Adjust the position of the screen and lighting sources (natural and electric light).

Position the monitor and source documents so that both are approximately the same distance from your eyes.

Replace monitors with poor resolution or flicker.

If you use lenses, make them with a full frame to read at a distance of 50 to 60 centimeters.

Position the monitor so that the top of the screen is below your line of sight.
