The journey full of surprises Banda Aceh - Meulaboh.

The view from Mount Geurutee (banda aceh city)
The second trip I set up rencong land in June 2014 brought me to know the National Hero of Teuku Umar Johan in Meulaboh. My friend, Bang Wanda, promised to visit a city in the west of Aceh when I would visit for the second time to Aceh. Aceh really makes me fall in love, opiate who always want to make it back there again. I arrived in Banda Aceh and decided to stay for a few days in this city, the third day in Aceh then we (me and Bang Wanda) went to Meulaboh. Before I left for Meulaboh, my friends said "why deck to Meulaboh? There is only a palm oil, barren ". I care ? no, for me the trip is not destined for a beautiful destination, because I believe somewhere has something different, including Meulaboh.

After Friday prayers at around 14:00 pm, we departed from Banda Aceh to Meulaboh which is estimated to take 5 hours. Distance from the city of Banda Aceh to Meulaboh approximately 245 km we traveled by motorcycle matic. The journey began, I never left the city of Banda Aceh except Pulau Weh. This being my first touring experience outside of Java, will be an unforgettable experience.

The sight of every street made me both fascinated and frightened, the rushing waves from the west coast of Aceh were so tight and even occasionally wiggle our motorcycles. Infrastructure from Banda Aceh to Meulaboh is now better after the tsunami. Our vehicle drove past Lhok Nga beach, this beach became the background place in the movie 'Memorize Delish Salat'. Ah my mind drifted into 2004, imagining how ferociously the tsunami wave devastated this area. The journey began climbing up Mount Paro, the winding road, uphill and bumpy made me a little scared. It was this mountain my witness fell off my motorbike on my way home from Meulaboh to Banda Aceh, haha. But the scenery around eased my fears, the thickness of the forest, the beauty of staring at the blue sea from the heights, enjoying the view of some monkeys hanging over the trees and some sitting on the sidewalk. Narrow streets make us sometimes have to succumb when there are large trucks passing. Feel the relief when it penetrated Mount Paro, but it turns out my suffering has not ended here, hahaha. My heart was still racing again as the road began to climb through Mount Geurutee, Aceh Jaya. I am more grateful when I know the streets on this mountain better than Mount Paro, the corners are not so sharp and the streets are almost most smooth as smooth as SNSD's thighs. Right at the top of Mount Geurutee lined coffee shop that turned out to sell a stunning scenery. I can see from the streets, the view of the blue sea gradation with clustered islands, there are only two or more islands but this is more than enough to spoil my eyes. Unfortunately, we had to arrive in Meulaboh before dark.

Our motorcycle continued to drive away from Mount Geurute. the smooth, winding streets piercing the trimmed hill into scenery along Mount Geurute towards Calang. "This street is a donation from America Ta, look at the street like the street in America right?", Said Bang Wanda. I have been browsing about trips to Meulaboh and some say that this road was built by Americans, the help of the American people by marking a bridge with USAID writing. Sure enough, all the bridges along the western side read "USAID from American People". Another scene that I met in Aceh Jaya is a very simple gate alley but attracted my attention. Almost every alley has a gate made of 3 long-sized bamboo that is enforced on both sides and painted with the color of the local party's flag banner. In fact, I saw a few stalls painted full of the party's flag style. Approaching Calang City, our motorcycle tires leaked, haha bad is no reason to stretch the muscle for a while. Our journey continues past Lamno to Calang City.

Lamno is a region in Aceh Jaya that is quite famous for the blue-eyed population like the Portuguese. Unfortunately, since the tsunami wiped out this place is very difficult to find the blue-eyed.

We continue to drive from Calang City to West Aceh, entering West Aceh the view of the palm oil plantation greeted us. Two different sights are split by the streets. On the west side of the road we were treated to the sound of waves, the blue of the sea, the pine trees and coconut trees, while on the eastern side of the road we were treated to a spectacular view of palm oil plantations sometimes my eyes caught the dry land of forest fires, either burned or deliberately burned. Several times we had to relent, reducing speed when a bunch of cows were busy relaxing on the highway. Landscape that I have never got before, usually the animals who will succumb to walk off the roadside, while here? we, the riders who have to reduce speed, pull over and even stop when the cows with the fun of piss in the middle of the road there is even a casual course to obey his son regardless of us. A sight that amazes me, or does it seem like an admissiveness to something? I do not know,

At 19.00 we arrived in Meulaboh City, greeted by the Meulaboh highway mosque, a tiring journey but a new experience for me. In the next post I will tell you my brief experience in Teuku Umar city.(Some pictures I took from the internet with the source because I did not have time to shoot with my camera).
