Peacock gudgeon // Tateurndina ocellicauda

Tateurndina ocellicauda also known as Peacock gudgeon, is a small but colorful fish from Papua New Guinea.
It inhabits streams ponds and rivers.
they reach around 3" and are pretty hardy ( pH 6-8 , KH 5-10). As they don't grow that big, a tank around 20 gallons is enough for a small group.
They are pretty easy to breed. The eggs are layed in a cave or tube and guarded by the male until they hatch after around 2 days. The fry feeds on small live food like microworms or artemia nauplia. After they reached a certain size, you can try to feed them powderfood or frozen cyclops / bosmidia. But in my experience it´s hard to get them used do not moving food.
Here is a photo of a female. This can be seen by the yellow/orange belly, the missing nuchal hump, and the black stripe running on the outer edge of the anal fin.
