Visit the Bird park...the bit without the birds!

in #pets7 years ago

We have a small, sweet little bird park in our town. It's function is more as a pet shop/coffee shop, but it can be fun to take a quick stroll through, especially if you have children. In an earlier post, I detailed my love affair with the ostrich, and a very beautiful peacock, but there were also a few other animals, and some pretty quirky decor.

Definitely NOT a bird, but spiders, lizards and snakes are available to buy at the pet shop. I love the spider ornament!

These little monkeys make popular pets, though I feel a little bit uncomfortable with that. They are cute as babies, but not so easy to live with when they get older. I try to stay quite far away from them in the cages, as I have seen them intentionally aiming their urine streams! One of my staff members had a friend who liked to own these kind on monkeys as pets, and I was horrified to hear that she killed not one, but TWO, by rolling over them in her sleep. (And not simultaneously either.) Also, they are really expensive, I think well over R1000 ($83).

Goats, rabbits and a pig, snoozing in the heat.

I loved the beautiful sculptures, in stone and metal.

You can see a lot of care has been taken with appearances, which is a good thing in our small town.

The view looking out from the park, is spectacular, and adds to the peaceful atmosphere.

The signage demonstrates someone has a sense of humour. Maybe not everybody gets it. While I was there, there was another family with young children, and I saw the mother frantically warning everyone about sharp edges!

We really don't have much to do in our small town, but you have just visited one of the little places we do have!

Hiii the place looks really neat, they seem to be taking real good care of it which is very encouraging to potential tourist site to visitors. If a small town can be this well maintained then i think the town is getting ready to be big, are you ready for that? Thanks for sharing

I 'm agreed with you

Thanks for your comment! Yes, I am ready for more things to do!

Love the big notice!! Very funny!
That monkey gives me the creep right away!
The spider is a bit too big for me!
The natural surrounding is very nice though!
