Miami Duty
Looking through pics on my Google and was remembering how much fun duty in Miami for recruting was. I had so many opportunities to enjoy games, meet celebs, and just hang out.
There was just a whole different way that things were done in South Florida compared to Philadelphia. Not in a bad way, but it seemed, to me, that it was just way easier to be involved with Artists, Players, Government officials, etc. They were more open to just talking and hanging out. I mean I even ate lunch and dinner with the Estefan family and no one acted any different than just normal neighbours.
My favorite had to be working with the Miami Heat team though. I happen to be a NY fan but that didn't stop me from getting involved in things like, helping the team pack Soldier care kits to ship overseas
Or helping them play deployed Soldiers in online games like COD live!
During this same event past legendary players were meeting and greeting us. It was an experience that I will never forget.
Now that Philadelphia is my home and it looks like I am adopting the city as my own for good, I have been running around and trying to be involved with different organizations and charities. I really want to contribute to this growing city and I really like being here. It is different, but there are ways to open up more of Philly for everyone to enjoy.
So if you happen to be out here in Philly and know of community events (they seem to pop up here without warning!) leave me a comment. Also you can reach me on Instagram @joselg1775. Show some love and join me out and about, there is so much life out there!
