58th Araw ng Surigao del Sur: Picturesque, Innovative Booths as Reflections of the Majesty of Surigao del Sur
Coming from all corners of Surigao del Sur, Surigaonons gather along the busy streets of Tandag City to celebrate the week-long “Araw ng Surigao del Sur” every year.
LGUs and other agencies from the different cities/municipalities showcase their creativity and innovativeness through out-of-this-world booths.
The structure of the booth itself may be symbolic of the place or people it represents: the entrance to Lanuza booth –sea waves acting as the entry door- clearly describes the place as the surfing capital of the province.
Surigao del Sur is blessed with so many tourist destinations; hence, making its record always high in tourist arrivals. In my humble opinion, government leaders/officials and all Surigaonons still need to exert extra efforts and work hand in hand to boost the economy of the province. Agricultural and tourism projects, among other related projects, must always abide by the dictates of sustainable development as well.
The true essence of this annual event is to unleash the greatest potential of Surigao del Sur, and to make use of that potential to unite all Surigaonons and communicate success and progress across the nation, and even around the world.
Surigao del Sur did not exist for nothing. It boasts of a riveting, complex culture represented by its people, modes of expression, cuisine (seafoods also!), and staggeringly beautiful attractions. That being said, we have an unending task of protecting our God-given wealth. If we want progress, then we must protect the people, and take actions to protect our nature. Protect e.v.e.r.y.t.h.i.n.g that we have.
Happy 58th Araw ng Surigao del Sur!

This looks really neat, I would love to try some of that fresh fish, and the art inspired shacks looks so cool. I love how eclectic they are.
