GMA7 - GMA Network declares hefty cash dividends this year

GMA Network’s Board of Directors approved the declaration of P1.35 cash dividends per share, during a meeting held on March 26, 2021, record date 22-Apr-2021, Ex-date 19-Apr-2021 and payment date on May 18, 2021.  This hefty cash dividend is 16% of its IPO price, 18% of today’s (26-Mar-2021) closed price at 7.48 and 28% of my average price at 4.88.

Since becoming publicly listed, the Network has declared P6.91 total dividend per share and total dividends amounting to Php 30.928 billion from 2008 to 2021. These are equivalent to an average of 95 percent of the Company's net income after tax year-on-year. Based on the historical dividend payout of the Company, dividend yield averages at 7 percent based on IPO price of P8.50.

Upholding its commitment and declaring substantial dividends especially in these challenging times gives its investor a hedge to its portfolio. GMA Network continues to provide the best returns to its shareholders and consistently pays cash dividends every year.

Now… the question remains, is GMA7 still attractive to invest in at this time? My answer, it depends on your investment strategy.  If you’re a long-term investor and you believed it's fundamentals and growth, then for me still worth parking your fund on this ticker.

Remember that I clearly said invest not trade as trading in stocks for me is like (tumataya ka lang sa casino na mas malamang ang talo kaysa panalo).
