A GRANDEUR LANDMARK OF UAE’s CAPITAL | Sheikh Zayed Bridge, Abu Dhabi
Sheikh Zayed Bridge a grandeur landmark of the UAE’s capital city, the 3rd route connecting the mainland to Abu Dhabi Island.
This 3M US dollar bridge has a length of 842 meters and a height of 2,762 feet! An arch bridge resembling the sand dunes of the desert named after the Father of this beautiful nation, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the main architect who built this strong nation!
Quick facts of the significant people behind the structure:
- Architect: Zaha Hadid (Iraqi-British Architect)
- Lighting Design: Rogier van der Heide at Hollands Licht
- Construction engineers: Buckland & Taylor Ltd.
- Structural design: Rendel of Rendel Palmer and Tritton
Coming from Dubai this landmark does not only eases my mind by giving me the thought that I’m about to reach home, but also gives me such a relaxing feeling with its simple, classic yet wonderful changing lights during the night!
Photos were taken while we are moving towards Abu Dhabi city via Maqta Bridge using iPhoneX ... NO FILTER, NO EDIT 😉
