THREE ESSENTIAL ELEMENTS OF A HAPPY WORK PLACE

To the young professionals or even to the young at hearts, how many of you have experienced conflicts with co-workers? Surely about 90% of you did.
Conflict is a common problem among us. It is usually caused by personal preferences, religion, gender, age, education, social status, etc.
I personally experienced conflict with some of my officemates - even with my closest work buddy.
So I wondered, why? How can that be possible? So here are some essentials I formulate in order to have a peaceful and a happy work life.

3. BUILD RELATIONSHIP

Just like how you build raport among your clients, you also need to build raport among your workmates. You spend at least 8 hours of your time at work. If fortunate, you do it only five times per week. Sometimes, you over and offer times during weekends. LOL!
Do not only focus on work. Breathe! Have a break. Take time to know people around you. You get to socialize. Invite them to lunch or dinner. Start a conversation, but opps! Don't talk about work this time. Find something that you have in common - favorite food, movie, TV series, music, etc.

2. RESPECT AND BE HONEST

Now that you have built a relationship, the next thing you need to learn is to respect each others' opinion. Remember, even if you are the closest buddy, you still need to consider his/her feelings.
Most likely because of your closeness, you do things you thought was OK. Apparently not.
For example, you ate your workmate's chocolates stored in the fridge without him/her knowing. Later on you found out that chocolate was intended for your bud's daughter. Oppsieeee!
Another example, how would you react if your buddy used your things without your knowledge and left your table super messed up? Triggered now?
Just because you are "friends" does not give you the authority to abuse his kindness.

If ever you felt offended, be honest. Tell that person who offended you that you were hurt. Do not talk behind his back. Quickly tell him so you can talk about it and solve the problem by yourselves.
Swallow the pride and forgive.
Swallow the pride and ask forgiveness.

1. PUT GOD IN THE CENTER OF YOUR WORK

Just like in any other kind of relationships, it is important to put God in the center. Practise daily worships in every morning huddles you have. Take time to remember His great works. Praise God for everything you have, great or small. Appreciate everything around you - may it be your client, your manager, your workmates, a situation you are in whether bad or good. Jesus delivers a message through people, things, or situations that you didn't expect.
Invite the Holy Spirit, that thru Him you may learn wisdom to understand things.
Invite the Holy Spirit, that thru Him you will be able to control your thoughts.
Give your best effort in serving your clients and your boss, because through that, you are serving the LORD.
